What was your first R-rated movie?

What was the first ever uncensored R-rated movie you ever saw?

I remember mine. I was probably around 10. My sister & I were on vacation with our father. Our mother was a big stickler for us not seeing R-rated movies. Heck, there were even some PG/PG-13 movies that gave her pause, like Batman Returns & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But my dad didn't care. Since we had nothing else to do and the motel room had free HBO, we saw... Freejack with Emilio Estevez & Mick Jagger!

What about you? What was your first R-rated movie experience?

My mother rented The Running Man for a sleepover I was having for my 13th birthday. I was surprised that she'd picked it up off of the shelf and told it it was rated R. She said that she knew, but that she felt I was old enough to see it.

Well, i'm English, so we don't have R rated movies, but the first 18 rated movie I saw was Alien. My dad was a big fan and he let me watch it with him when I was about 10 also.

The first 18 rated film I got in to see in the cinemas (it's illegal to let under 18s in even if they are accompanied by an adult) was Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare when I was 15.

Dang, you guys are making me feel old... I go back to 1976's Dirty Harry movie "The Enforcer."

Alas I was 17, no early peeks for me. but at that time if you wanted to see an R-movie uncut movie it meant getting past the ID checking guards at the theater. There was no HBO or video rentals then. It wasn't unheard of for theaters to even turn away 17-year-olds from some movies they deemed too mature (No Tits for Tots was the joke).

^Actually, on thinking about it, I may have seen The Enforcer when I was a child - before I saw Robocop or The Terminator.

First 18 rated film I saw. My dad made me stay up late to watch a TV broadcast of The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly. I must have been about 12.

I can't remember exactly but it was either "The Omen" or "Looking for Mr. Goodbar".

Yes folks, I is that old.

Police Academy when I was in the 2nd grade and over at my best friends house, watched it while his parents and my parents were sitting out on the porch.

Now, that I think about it I saw a lot of R-rated movies before I was 17. I usually went with my mom and her friends, and while it was okay to hear strong language or see something violent, I was usually told to cover my eyes if someone was naked.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the very first R-rated film I saw was a late 70's drama in which Richard Pryor was playing a rather serious role.

I really have no idea. My parents didn't really care which movies we saw. Actually my family has always been really into watching movies and they rent several weekly, so I probably saw tons of R rated movies before I was 10.

Mine was "The Kentucky Fried Movie," John Landis' 1977 spoof on movies in general. Lots of boobies! "Catholic High School Girls in Trouble!" :guffaw:

I was 16. Waltzed right in with an older friend. I always did look older than my age.

I was a well-behaved boy. The first one I saw, when I was 17 was... at a SF convention.

Flesh Gordon. I was shocked, intrigued, turned on, and laughed my head off.

Incidentally, the GOH at that con, was Ursula le Guin.
