What was the first STAR TREK episode you ever saw?

I can't remember the first Trek episode I ever saw. I do know that it was TOS because it was still the 70s and TOS was the only Trek they'd invented! The first Trek I remember ever seeing is Mudd's Women. Because of that there is something about it that I love very much.

My first episode was "Who Watches the Watchers?" It was at a point where I was first starting to doubt my religion (Catholicism), so the episode struck a positive nerve with me. It also got me interested in the series because of its message of non-interference and modesty (that even though the crew were more powerful than the Mintakans, they were not "gods").

I kept watching the show until "All Good Things..." then I got into everything else Trek. :)

The first episode I remember was "The Corbomite Manuever" which aired on KMVT channel 11 at 4:00 PM right after school, starting in the fall of 1979. (Channel 11 at the time was a CBS, NBC, and ABC affiliate--there was only one TV station and they carried the best-in their opinion-of all three networks.)

I had been exposed to episodes of TAS and TOS before, but it didn't catch on with me until the daily reruns started in '79.

First one I remember watching for myself rather than being on in the background was 'The Corbomite Manoeuvre' and remembering thinking the Blalock puppet looked a bit like my Grandad....think I was maybe 8 at the time....

Hell if I know, probably some TOS episode I watched while someone was flipping through the channels, before TNG came out. I didn't become a fan till late in TNGs run. I think I had watched some episodes before though.

One of my earlist TNG memories is of Picard about to step out of a turbo lift and suddenly noticising it is empty space. I think I was flipping through the channels and I was like, cool, and I think I stayed for more. But like I said I only became a fan late in TNG run and I think that was an early TNG episode.

"Space Seed" (good timing with the question since it is on TOS-R this week). I watched it totally by accident, not even knowing what Star Trek was.

It was probably early 1970's ('72 or '73). I was about 7 years old. Remember, I had NO idea what Star Trek was (it was just starting to get a following, I think). First I saw Spock and was confused, but intrigued. I always liked sci-fi as a kid, so I gave this "unknown" (to me , at least) TV show a chance and watched some more. When Kirk, Scotty, McCoy and McGivvers transported into the Botany Bay near the beginning, I was totally confused. I had no idea what the hell just happened. I didn't even know what a transporter was. But, even more intrigued I kept watching.

I enjoyed the show so much, I can still remember vivid details of that very first time watching it these 30-some years later.

Lucky for me it was "Space Seed" that I stumbled across. Good thing, as Dorothy Zbornak related in the OP, that I didn't accidentally run across "And the Children Shall Lead". Those weird kids and that creepy pedophilic angel would have scared me away for good!

The first ever Star Trek anything I ever saw was Star Trek III: The Search For Spock during its theatrical run. I was 11 years old at the time and I went with my family. At the time I was just steaming with resentment at the fact that they wouldn't let me go see Gremlins, which was playing at the same theater. But after a while, I got over my resentment pretty quick!

Afterwards, I got into The Original Series in reruns during the mid-'80s. I couldn't say with absolute certainty which episode I saw first, but I do know that I started watching during the Second Season!

In 1967, at the age of nine, I spent the night at a friend's house and watched "City on the Edge of Forever." Awesome.

I saw the first episode on NBC when it first appeared in the 60s. The better quetion would be which is the first one you remember.

What episode? What Series? What channel?
I can tell you the series--it was Star Trek--but since it was about 40 years ago I can't quite recall the specific episode. I remember it had some guy with pointy ears in it, and my parents didn't like watching it, so my exposure was infrequent.

I don't know what episode I saw first. I think it was probably a DS9 or Voyager episode because my dad watched those when I was little.
