What was the first STAR TREK episode you ever saw?

I don't remember which episode I saw first. I do know for a fact, however, that it was TOS - I remember finding those episodes frightening and fascinating at the same time when I was a kid :D

having long since figured out I was gay, one wonders whether I was just into the shirtless guy running around a spaceship. :)

See? Your gaydar was working even then. ;)

I had an awareness of TOS from friends at school in the 60s but my grandmother owned the b/w TV set, so we watched only what she wanted to watch during prime time. In the 70s, I have vivid memories of watching TAS in b/w on Saturday mornings.

In 1975, Australia got colour TV. Selected episodes of TOS were run "for the first time in colour!" and I recall seeing "Miri", "The Devil in the Dark" and “Spectre of the Gun” among the ten or so episodes presented. Doctor McCoy's eyes were such a startling shade of blue!

TAS "in colour" started screening during midweek breakfast TV, and I couldn't wait to see "Albatross", since that was the one where the crew turned different colours when they got sick, and I figured it was going to be pretty. My friend remembers that "Pirates of Orion" had the reels misnumbered, or it had been spliced together wrongly - and the station played the acts out of order. She wrote them a letter, but the repeat still had Acts 2 and 3 reversed.

This is SO gonna give away my age but here goes

Back in uh 66, I watched The Corbomite Maneuver, w/my extra hot baby sitter. I was 4 and she was 19 and she loved the first couple of epis of Star Trek. She wouldn't let me watch one of my stupid shows, but I liked hers, even though it was weird (at the time). 8 years after I began watching everyday after school (Big Valley came on just b/4)and I watched The Ultimate Computer, it had alot of space shootin' and this 7th grader luved it, and alas I was hooked. Watched TOS from 74-77, then I got too cool for Trek, musta been all that hairspray.

Took a break from Trek for a few years, went to movies (secretly) and watched TMP and kinda liked it. The movies that came out in 82 and 84 kept me going and in 86 went to see VH and girlfriend broke up w/me after the movie, hmmm.

Did NOT like TNG, at the beginning but soon grew to like it. HATED DS9, vehemently at the beginning (boring Bajoran politics and not flyin' around the cosmos, WTF?) Didn't like V'ger and just thought ENT sucked the whole band.
Well, the (re)epihiany came late nite on Fridays on Spike. Back in 2003 they were showin' S7 (Dom war) in it so rocked, I was rehooked on DS9 and started watchin the whole thing again (save TOS, which to me is now kinda hokie)and I'm luvin every minute of it.

"The Devil in the Dark" and "Charlie X" when I was around five on the BBC, so about 1991. They scared the hell out of me and I remember very very clearly when someone mentioned it about a month later I said quite definitely "I hate Star Trek" I was also vaguely aware of TNG and TOS being different, as my dad and his parents used to watch them, but I thought that TNG was the older series (not knowing the names of each) because to me the crew looked older. Despite my professed "hatred" I'd still peek at the shows occasionaly if my dad told me I'd see the ship. I always loved seeing the Enterprise on tv.

I got into it via the chain of scifi tv. Thunderbirds - Space Precinct - I wanted more scifi so I watched DS9 in about its second series and a couple of weeks later TNG (in about its six or seventh I suppose) - after that I never missed an episode. To this day one of my great regrets is that I wasn't quite old enough to see First Contact at the cinema.

Earliest that I recall:

The one with Picard and future Picard in the shuttle. Season 2 of TNG. Freaked me out at the time.

That'd be the cartoon series, ``More Tribbles, More Troubles'' for me. For live-action trek that'd be ``The Return of the Archons''.

9/11/66 The Man Trap..NBC..I was 5 years old and it scared the beejeezus outta me..been addicted ever since.

I saw a few episodes of TOS as a kid, but it didn't "click" until I watched "The Offspring". It premiered in March 1990, so I was a senior in high school. It was in syndication which I believe was channel 5 or 13, which is a Fox channel out of New York.

TOS, in syndication, back in '71 or '72, I would have been around eight. May have been "The Changeling" but all I really remember for sure is always loving Star Trek. I remember being very skeptical when I heard it was going to be made into a cartoon—I was afraid it was going to be turned into slapstick, like Warner Bros. cartoons. It never occurred to me that it could done straight!

I have the earliest of memories of watching a rerun of Devil In the Dark, on an old black and white TV. I didn't even understand it, except I knew it was that show with Mr. Spock.

Devil In the Dark, in 1972 on WESH TV Channel 2/NBC. I don't remember the day of the week exactly but I believe it was a thursday. I was 7 years of age.

I was hooked early. I then some months later saw the NBC Saturday Cartoon Preview show and it showed Star Trek: Animated and I wrote it down to make sure I saw those too. They ran on Saturdays 11:00 on NBC for season 1 and for season 2 11:30am.

Same here, except I was a bit older.

I'm not sure, actually. It may have been "The City on the Edge of Forever", which would be supremely ironic given I consider it rather overrated. :D

One of my earliest TV watching memories was a Trek episode - 'The Enemy Within' to be exact. No, as possibly a three year old, I did not recall the title, but I do clearly remember the little pink dog, which I worried over. I did not understand what was going on with Kirk, although I felt bad for his 'evil' half when he cried and all that.

"The Man Trap". There was a rerun here in 1991 or 1992. I was 6/7 years old then. And a fan ever since ;)
