What was the BEST Starship Battle??

I wish that if DS9 was going to be remastered for Blu-Ray then the remastering crew could create a couple new CGI sequences for "What You Leave Behind" since the Battle of Cardassia was composed mostly of stock footage. A 24th century Romulan bird of prey would be nice.

Goodness, that's true. Whatever scant new footage that was developed for that battle was pretty sweet -- the Defiant swooping from under and around a Galaxy while the latter lays cover fire, the Defiant pulling a loop-de-loop to turn the tables on its pursuer, et all. Just wish we had more of it.

Unfortunatly I suspect the reason for largely recycled footage with maybe the odd alteration was budget. We can sometimes expect too much from a TV budget.

The fleet battle in DS9's Sacrifice Of Angels is my favorite. The future of the Alpha Quadrant was on the line. The Miranda class is my favorite ship and though they were taken out, it was nice seeing a couple keep up with the Defiant for as long as they did.

I agree. The photographic effects were fantastic!

We got that--but it was on ENTERPRISE...
