What to do on a birthday ending in Zero

Seven of those zero celebrations are in my rear view mirror and only a couple stand out. I turned 50 in Oslo Norway on a business trip and my hosts there had learned it was my B-day. They took me to the most elegant restaurant in Oslo and surprised me with a cake and the string trio playing the traditional HPpy Birthday song. I’ll never forget it. For 70, I just indulged in candy abuse with jelly beans, candy corn and Milky Way Midnight bars. Didn’t barf either.

Today's the day, right? Happy 40th! :D

Thanks!

It is today. Or was this past day, since it's 12:48am my time now. ;)

In addition to the music playlist and the film, I played some cartoons that would've been around then: Betty Boop, Bosco, Felix the Cat, and Popeye. Then I threw in Chapter 1 of the 1943 Batman serial, and a WWII newsreel. I wanted to duplicate the actual '40s-going movie experience.

happy birthday! Have a great new decade and don't worry, 40ish and 50 ish are much better than people assume. You're old enough to be really naughty and young enough to thoroughly enjoy it :D

I had no idea you were that much younger than me! You sound very mature for your age.

Oh, and also belated happy 20est aniversary on TrekBBS! :)

Happy Birthday, whippersnapper!

Can always do what I do for Birthdays That End in -0 (or any other Birthday, or, err, any other day..)

Drink beer!

Dear Wife will turn 60 in 2 days..(I just had my B-day today, makes it easy to remember my better half's special day)
and we will have some Thai-food at a favorite restaurant.. Hopefully, everything will go well.. When I turned 40, I was given a copy of Jethro Tull's "Too Old to Rock and Roll and Too Young to Die" album and a card showing a rocket sled going downhill...
Life goes on..till it doesn't...
