Once you're past 30 be glad you're not pushing up daisies. I went to Egypt, Mexico and Vegas for 30, 40 and 50. For 60 I'm going to pose for professional naked photos of myself and frame them around the house

One idea is to go for a bike ride a mile a year. I know a lady that did a 70 mile bike ride on her 70th birthday.

We shouldn't have just minimum age requirements for leaders; there should also be a minimum IQ requirement.

I’d even forgo the minimum IQ test if you have to pass a test on basic constitutional knowledge.

I ran into someone I know from high school (who was a year ahead of me) who said, "I can't believe I'm 41." I said, "I'm turning 40 next month." Then he said, "We're old".

My thought: No. 70, 80, 90. That's old. 40 isn't old. I get sick of hearing it is whenever I run into people my age who I used to know. "We're getting old!" No we're not.

It's official. I've settled on going with a '40s Theme for my 40th Birthday. Music from the 1940s, movies to watch from back then, that's how we'll do it.

I tell you what, in all seriousness, if money is tight & a trip is out of the question, usually for less than 100 bucks, you could experiment with a sensory deprivation tank experience. I've been thinking about trying it. Take a trip away from being YOU, because that's the best way to see yourself objectively. It may not seem like much, but it might be fun or interesting, it may give you a laugh, or be more meaningful. Who knows?

I turn 40 next month, and I was planning on doing what I normally do - go out and get some dinner and drinks. But, that sensory deprivation tank idea sounds really good! It's something I've always wanted to do, and I may look into where to do it around here. Thanks for the suggestion!
