What threads from other Star Trek shows do you want Strange New Worlds to pick up?

The non canon novels really did some interesting development with the Andorians, exploring their four genders and their complicated reproduction cycle that was contributing to their eminent extinction, as well as their arranged marriages, which seems progressive on the surface with four people in the marriage, but was also oppressive with people being matched with their best DNA partners for the best offspring so they didn't have personal choice, and mating outside the breeding group was taboo. I'd love to have the tv series pick that up and explore the Andorians more deeply.

Pick up some threads from Enterprise. The planet in Dear Doctor, the Xindi, etc.
What became of the Skagaarans in “North Star” and the surviving Triannons from “Chosen Realm”.

Tandaran detention facility/spies – can be a commentary of Guantanamo Bay remaining open, and the War of Terror of the past 20 years through removal of habeus corpus, use of drones targeting both foreign nationals and citizens alike and the high civilian casualty rate, black sites for torture, NSA surveillance state, rise of Wikileaks, etc.

General Gosis from “The Communicator” - Maybe it can be the SNW version of “A Piece of the Action” but instead of the society becoming 1920 Chicago gangsters, Gosis’s society used genetic engineering to create supersoldiers due to their interaction with Archer’s observation team 100+ years earlier. And maybe the supersoldiers are in charge of Gosis's society now.

Lots of great suggestions I've seen already. Here are some I would like to see:
-Incorporating storylines, characters from The Early Voyages comic. If nothing else, whenever the script needs to mention a former crewmember, why not insert one of their names?

-More of "The Cage" Enterprise crew.
-Captain April in live action.
-T'Pol and Soval.
-Sybok: It was a missed opportunity to not have him in DISCO's second season.
-Alexander Marcus Prime.
-Nogura, Morrow, Stone, Lori Ciana, Sonak, Matt & Willard Decker, Richard Daystrom.
-A Dax.
-Using what Trek lit. has already established to flesh out the Andorians, but also the Klingons. It would be great to canonize HemQuch and QuchHa'.
-Also would like to see the Kelvin Klingon design thrown in with the TOS, Motion Picture, TNG, and DISCO Klingons.
-Chang
-Like to see, or see more of, these species: Sheliak, Tholians, Nausicaans, Caitians, Edoans, Kzinti, Xindi, Suliban, Kinshaya, Tzenkethi, Kelvin alternate reality species, like Keenser.
-Starfleet Marines
-Starfleet Corps of Engineers

I'd rather they pick up new threads that aren't tied to canon, forging their own path and stories.

Who says they won’t? It does not mean that follow ups on loose threads can’t be done alongside that.

I mean,I hope so but I'm not optimistic. They seem to be learning the wrong lessons from fan feedback.

And what are the “wrong lessons” that they are learning?

Star Trek is always taking risks. The premise of DS9, VOY, ENT, DIS, PIC, LD & the reboot movies are all risks.

Yes, there has been a backlash to DIS S1 and PIC S1, but I’m sure that TNG S1 was a shock to the TOS purists when it first aired. TNG kept going.

We’ll find out what risks SNW will take soon enough.
That's not the point. The point is that they are slowly dialing back away from the risks, back towards what is considered "safe Trek." Be a good Trek, safe Trek, don't challenge us too much. That is the lessons that appear to be taken to heart.

With a Andorian in the show maybe now we will get to see some of those Andorian Ice Powers they have. Plus a Andorian Marriage that involves 3 people I believe. Also is it USPA that they called it in those early TOS episodes? I also want to see the ship do a saucer separation which according to tech books I think the TOS Enteprrise could do.

Nothing wrong with being a good Trek. Better than being a bad Trek.
"Good" as in a well behaved, never doing anything unexpected. Very well thought off, and never having any adventures outside the prescribed list of fan approved adventures. Not "good" as in a good story. Being very safe.

United Earth Space Probe Agency (UESPA), and that would be fun. And, yeah, seeing the Enterprise doing a little bit more. The less about marriage the better.

If its supposed to cater to the kids of today, that’s to be expected. When was the last time they asked for challenging episodes of Star Trek?
