What TFA Merchandise Have You Gotten?

I don't know what McDonald's would want to do for a PG-13 film but Burger King had two different toy promotions for Episode III, which was a PG-13 film that featured Anakin Skywalker turning to the Dark Side, murdering children, brutally cutting down enemy leaders and being burnt almost to death as he screamed in agony.

Burger King might have slightly different standards for which films they'll promote in their restaurants and with their food, but I could see at least one of these two chains having at least some The Force Awakens toys available for purchase.

It's a Disney thing. They no longer do any fast food toy tie-ins, and haven't for almost ten years - now just Subway (since it's sorta healthier I guess) with the little bags, which sometimes come with a sticker sheet, trading card, etc.

Ah, okay. Thanks for that explanation. I don't see many Happy Meals or fast food toy promotions these days and didn't know Disney had dropped their merchandising ties with the restaurants.

^ Heh, Target.com does show the price as $8.99, but apparently they don't actually have any more. It says "shipping not available," and none of the stores in my area have it available.

My girlfriend gave me a Star Wars: TFA insulated cup for Christmas. Probably the only bit of merch I'll get.

I went and got the Lego Kylo Ren shuttle. I haven't played with legos for a while & it's way bigger than any sets I got as a kid, I felt like I was building the large hadron collider.

My Target was completely cleaned out of Star Wars toys today

But I did get the Hot Wheels die cast black and orange X-Wing for $5! I love that color scheme! They also had Kylo Ren's Shuttle which was tempting.

My Target has no TFA action figures right now. In any scale. All they have are a few of the big Jakks Pacific figures that stand about four feet tall and come with electronic sounds and voices, and those aren't action figures but rather huge display pieces with swiveling arms and heads.

The giant Darth Vader looks awesome, though.

So I ordered some 3.75" figures online, but spent more than I normally would on action figures. That includes a couple of Wal-Mart "black series" for around $25 each; I think the original retail price was $13. Thank goodness for my year-end bonus.

And guess what? I'm going to open up the packages and play with the figures!

Which 3.75" Black Series figures did you order? Wave 3 with Finn, Rey and Poe Dameron is just starting to hit Walmarts across the country.

I'm not sure which wave they are in. I got Rey (Jakku) and Kylo Ren. On walmart.com, it says this Rey figure is no longer available.

Rey is in Wave 3, and so is Kylo Ren (a carry forward from the previous wave). Congrats! That's a good wave assortment except for the boring and unnecessary Endor Han Solo repack of an older figure that wasn't exactly all that popular when he was new.

A large cup from the theater.

Though I am thinking of getting a lightsaber. Though not one that was in the movie (unless Luke's second one can be seen and I just missed it.)

The green lightsaber he constructed and used in ROTJ isn't visible in the new film. If he still has it we probably won't see it again until Episode VIII.

Ah. Good thing I went for the Target Exclusive sticker then.

There does seem to be a huge rush for rare Pop figures, with some going for several thousand dollars.

For example, you can purchase a Holographic Darth Maul figure for only $1500!

Yesterday afternoon I found the new, Toys 'R' Us-exclusive 3.75" figure of Captain Phasma. It comes with the gimmicky "Armor Up" accessories and has just 5-POA so it's not the best Phasma figure on the market, but she looks really nice with sand painted on her boots and the bottom of her cape and is a little better than the standard 3.75" figure that a lot of people are still having trouble finding.

Neither of them are as good as the 6" Black Series figure, though. That's still the hardest of all the new 6-inch characters from The Force Awakens to find and the eBay and other secondary market as well as e-tailer prices for her border on highway robbery. If you can find her in a store, though, or buy her online for a good price she's worth it.

There's also a new Poe Dameron that was released with her. He doesn't come with an X-Wing helmet (I guess they figured the two pieces of snap-on body armor aimed more at kids were like getting helmets) but he has the best Oscar Isaac head sculpt of any 3.75" Poe figure yet released.

He and Captain Phasma are the only "Armor Up" figures that are TRU exclusives. All the others are sold pretty much everywhere.
