I only had the cassette copy of World Machine growing up so it was not until years later I heard this one, and it became probably my favorite Level 42 song from that period.Level 42, "I Sleep On My Heart (live)"
I was in a similar situation. I didn't know the US version of World Machine was different from the original, and unwittingly stumbled onto "I Sleep On My Heart" decades later. Definitely one of my favorite L42 tracks of all time...I only had the cassette copy of World Machine growing up so it was not until years later I heard this one, and it became probably my favorite Level 42 song from that period.
I had just got my first bass guitar when World Machine came out. it was life changing for me. I went to the local record store with all the money i had saved up and ordered everything thy had from L42 on Polydore, but all on cassettes. managed to get most everything up to that point except for part 2 of Physical Presence, but a local radio station actually played it in entirelty one night after midnight, the DJ saying "this is the best live fusion alblum you will ever hear" or something like that. I wonder if he got in trouble. Manage to record some of that on an old certron too.I was in a similar situation.
