What Song Are You Listening to Right Now

So lovely, and so sad is the story behind it.

I've seen a few live performances of this song where he at some stage can't sing anymore because he has to cry.
I hope that I have a chance to meet him someday.

Really lovely chillout track.

I Don't Know What Were Talking About

I love playing my bass along with this song. Fun song to sing too.
I first heard it as a realaudio file many years ago as a bootleg, at a higher tempo as well. Mark King was not happy it leaked out. This one provided by Lindup is much better. Either way, it makes me wonder about the album we might have received instead of Guaranteed. All these years later I never really warmed up to Guaranteed. It has some good moments. But it also has The Ape and some filler

Personally, I think the band was kind of lost after leaving longtime label Polydor and wasn't sure what direction they wanted to go in--either more jazzy or pop-oriented, and a lot of the B-sides and unreleased stuff during this time were kind of all over the place, with "At This Great Distance," being almost trippy, IMO. Guaranteed was perhaps the most coherent stuff they had, although a case could be made that it was over-produced to some degree.

I tend to be biased towards Guaranteed because I learned a lot of my bass playing chops off that album.
:D
