Definately Martok. I think part of the reason Worf looked up to Martok so much was that he was so much the emblem of everything that a Klingon should be in Worf's mind.

Kurn would be a good choice, but we know Martok a lot better than Kurn. I think Kurn was a lot more brooding than a typical "Klingony" Klingon. He wasn't the stick in the mud that Worf was, but he always seemed somewhat more reserved. Understandable, given his circumstances.

Worf had the Klingon ideals down solid. Khaless would have held him up as an example of what Klingons should be. He also would have called him a collosal bore, and hung out with Martok instead.

Gowron was the poster boy of everything that was wrong with 24th Century Klingon society. Ezri pointedly said as much, spurring Worf to challenge him.

Alexander
I haven't lmao'd in a while. Thanks for that.

I'm on the Martok train and there are a few examples as to why. I agree with everything that has been said of him thus far and what I really appreciated about the character was that they didn't "Federation-ize" him. He was very much Klingon in behavior from start to finish. There's a scene in Tears of the Prophets where he's ready to kill a Romulan senator after he makes a comment about every Romulan zoo having a pair of Klingons. When I saw that I thought "Wow, what a great visceral response." The second example I'm thinking of came when Martok drank Bloodwine over the corpses of the Cardassians after the war had been won. Sisko and Ross, of course, find doing so to be in bad taste. It exemplified that, although Martok was a good person at his core (i.e. not corrupt) he was still a Klingon and not a human.

...Oh man, Alexander, I'm still laughing about that.

Martok.

Quark said in "The Way of the Warrior," "when's the last time you met a quiet Klingon?" I can only think of one.

Martok had Worf's ethics, and therefore was a noble follower of Kahless. However, he also had the robust love of life that all other Klingons had as well. He wasn't afraid to wear his emotions on his sleeve, the way Worf was.

Martok loved to fight, loved his bloodwine, and loved to have a good time, the perfect Klingon.

LOL, you got that right.

Actually I think Jadzia Dax was the most Klingony Klingon. She certainly tried hard to be ;)

KOR -- both younger and older. He provides a interesting character arc. From a young man at top of his game through forgotten old man who finally finds his warrior's death.

Gowron - he disliked non-Klingons, fond of war and did not turn down combat, honourable enough to get by, smart enough to know how to work the system to his advantage, didn't mind killing people to get what he wanted.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Another vote for Martok.

I voted Martok, because his view of Klingon honor wasn't "Kill everyone who looks at you sideways". It's not that he was soft or anything, but he was the kind of person who had reasons to fight and destroy his enemies, not ONLY because of the 'call of the warrior'. Although that was a large part of his character. He also had the typical Klingon arrogant and semi-bigoted view of others until he was proven wrong, for example when Nog told him to stop loitering...a lot of other Klingons would have killed Nog without hesitation or at least ignored the 'pathetic Ferengi', but Martok respected Nog's determination. I'd rather have Martok as an ally than Worf or Gowron anyday.
Having said that, Kurn comes in a close second...although I've always found the idea of a Klingon suicide ritual ridiculous and un-Klingon.

Depends.

By 'klingony' are we referring to Kahless's code of honor? If so, Worf is the most pure blooded klingon, easily.

Or are we referring to the standard 24th century klingon? If so, Gowron is the purest representative - a thug who speaks only of honor but doesn't follow any coherent honor code, except for his own self-interests.
