what is your favorite Voyager episode ? And why ?

Deathwish

Really? I'm a (huge) Q fan myself and I honestly thought they managed to ruin this episode so much. It was the only one that had everything to be the best episode Q episode, yet turned out to be that, IMO.

Really? What about it ruined it for you?

Initially, I didn't like the portrayal of the Continuum as a little outpost in the desert....but it works really well for the story they wanted to tell as a way to convey Other Q's critique of immortality and his argument for euthanasia.

I thought it was the best non-TNG episode of Q. And its probably my favorite VOY episode of the first two seasons. But it's also the last Q episode I consider worth watching.

I really will never understand the animosity towards Endgame (I named it!) For lovers of VOY, it's absolutely chock-full of wonderful stuff, with the exception of C/7.

Anyway, I too am so pleased to see VOY getting more of the recognition it deserves!

No, The Episode that Must Never be Named was not chocked full of good stuff.

The woman who could have had Q just "blip" Voyager home decides instead to wreak havoc with the timeline to get it done.

The whole "getting home" should have been earned by the crew that put so much work into getting as close as they were for 7 years. It should have been a final story arc at the end of the season, not a one shot "poof". ESPECIALLY not a one shot "poof" that caused so many problems and broke so many rules.

How totally unrealistic was that final scene? Voyager didn't exactly have a "by the book" crew. They finally get earth in the viewscreen and everyone just sits calmly at their duty stations. No excitement, no chatter, no cheers from the crew. No hugs, no dancing... They just sit there. Not even gigantic smiles. It was like everyone was suddenly thinking "My god, can you imagine what my refridgerator is going to look like after seven years? Man, I don't want to deal with that."

That episode just oozed lazy, careless, and even ill-spirited writing. Everyone was portrayed out of character. It was just horrid.

The concept as Sci-Fi wasn't bad. But as an ending to Voyager, it was horrible. If it had come directly after Caretaker, it would have been an acceptable ending to the show, but not after 7 years of the show. Bad, BAD finale.

Latent Image - The Doctor is one of my favorite characters, so I am always happy to see character development on his part. I liked Robert Picardo's performance.

"Real Life"

I love it for the emotional impact it conveys.
Robert Picardo really sold me on on this.
He made you feel this holo-family was real so much so, watching Belle die made me cry.
It's the first Trek ep. of any show to get that emotional response from me.
It's a beautiful & very touching episode.
Why Picardo wasn't nominated for an Emmy for it, I'll never know.

"Resolutions": it showed that two former enemies could come together for a common goal. There could be differences of opinion, but there could also be teamwork.

"Bride of Chaotica": because you could tell that Kate Mulgrew had a blast doing that episode!

There are many more, but those are two of my 'Must Sees'

Another "Deathwish" fan here. Then again I love Q plus they had a socially relevant topic (right to die) as well as no borg or time travel. :D

I didn't really get Death Wish, either. I found the analysis of the situation to be shallow for what Star Trek is capable of. I think if TNG did this episode it would have been far better.

VOY Episodes I Love:
Drone---made me cry
Bliss---that old man was nothing short of fabulous.
Year of Hell
The Killing Game
Unimatrix Zero
Scorpion

I love the Borg. Always have, always will. A Borg episode can do no wrong in my opinion, except for the early Seven of Nine ones, where you don't really care about her personal/past life at first. I always wanted to have a fashion show and design really revealing Borg armor and implants for a bunch of models.

My fave is Think Tank. I'm shocked at how little love it gets.

I'd say Kurros is by far the most compelling and probably also the deepest and most fleshed-out character to ever appear on Voyager. That episode is riveting from start to finish. Plus, Jason Alexander delivers a brilliant acting performance.

The other contender would be The Void, the one episode that shows what Voyager could have been like in every episode if it stuck to its 'struggling through hostile space to get home' premise. The problem with The Void is that it should have been a series-long arc, from pilot to finale, not just one episode.

I don't dislike Think Tank and actually love Jason Alexander, but what do you think was so particularly deep and fleshed-out about the character of Kurros? I thought he was a rather by-the-numbers bad guy with a pretty see-through agenda. Off the top of my head I can think of a number of characters from Voyager that were both deeper and more fleshed-out than Kurros.

Nah, I liked it better when it was called Night. ;)

As for my favorite Voyager episode; this begins and ends with Living Witness. It's a great showcase for my favorite Voyager character and its story feels like classic Star Trek.

Agreed.
Jason Alexander proving once again what a poor actor he is without Jerry Sienfeld.

Nah, Jason Alexander is great; with or without Jerry Seinfeld. It was just kinda weird seeing him as Kurros, but his performance was fine with me.

My favourite? Q2.. I was hoping that Q's son would come back, actually. He was funny.
Another favourite of mine was Tiny, Tenor, Doctor, Spy (is that what is was called?). I nearly cried of laughter when the imaginary B'Elana was rubbing her ankle against the Doctors' leg in a meeting. And then again when Janeway made the Doctor put his hand on her 'lower back', claiming she had an old Starfleet injury that was acting up. His expression - priceless!

Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy, but close enough!:bolian: That episode would definitely be in my top 5, I just managed to forget about it when I made my list. Fantastic episode for a fantastic character.
