INS and NEM have yet to get a single vote. I can understand NEMESIS...but I always thought INSURRECTION had a couple of fans in here who loved its slowing-down-time story concept and the music? Maybe they just haven't voted yet.

Well, I did like the music (though that's about it). I think all the TNG movies have excellent scores, and that the best of the lot is probably a tie between FC and INS.

Kind of... because even in that scene, they are filling the role of adversaries... but you are correct... TWOK was a film with almost no mention of Klingons.

I really am sick of ST going ass-backwards to always find ways to make Klingons the feature enemy... it's so absolutely tired and overdone.

I AM a huge fan of "Insurrection", but IMO, the pacing of the movie was too much like a TV episode... it just wasn't paced right for the big screen. But I totally love the film, and GREATLY applaud it for being the first Trek film without ANY baddie Klingons, or any Borg... it was wholly original, a good story, and a fresh set of alien cultures to see.
We SO reach!:techman:

Wow, hardly any mentions of "Star Trek: First Contact". Always disheartening and bewildering to see the lack of support and even hatred towards that movie here. To me, it's so clearly the best of all the movies with the acting, special effects, and writing all coming together perfectly and beautifully, while all the others have very frustrating flaws in one or more of each of those areas.

"Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan" is the only that I think is even close. I used to think it was better and I still think they're almost equal...it's just that "Star Trek: First Contact" outclasses it so dramatically in special effects (which isn't that important, though). Those two are just awesomely entertaining (and thoughtful, and moving) from start to finish whereas the others all have story problems and more (although the new one does come close to them in terms of pure entertainment for extended periods).

I love "First Contact", as well... but that's not the point... the topic of this thread is our FAVORITE film. I enjoy every ST film. But my favorite of them is TUC.

I see what you mean. I didn't make it clear, but I think it is the best one and it is my favourite. Talking about ones that aren't necessarily the best objectively, but definite favourites, I should mention "The Voyage Home". I wouldn't argue much with people saying it's far from the third best after "First Contact", "The Wrath of Khan" or even fourth after those and the new one, but it's definitely my third favourite.

I have to go with Undiscovered Country because it was the closest of all the films to an actual episode of the original.

my favorite of them is TUC.
Okay, let's leave emotion out of the equation, and judge based on:
the balance of action to character
the coolness of the bad guy(s)
the ship pron
the humour (not silliness)
the trueness to the spirit of Trek

Well then, Undiscovered Country wins:techman:, hands down, even though I personally like TMP better & TVH just as much.

The only thing more bewildering to me than how ST09 has so many votes is how TMP has so many votes.
