What is the ugliest ship in starfleet?

Sticking with either main hero ships or ones that were main in story I would have to say that the Excelsior and the Galaxy are the two top ugliest for me.

Have to go with Galaxy class as well. The bloated saucer section not only looks ungainly but implies too much luxury for a ship expected to take part in combat.

Not an ugly ship, as such, but a weird *name*: the Steamrunner class. What the hell does that word even mean, anyway?

The ship itself looks really cool. Coulda picked a better name though. :p

I've never really thought about it before, but yeah, it is an odd name. No idea where it came from.

That said, I love the Steamrunner class. It's one of my favourite designs.

For ugliest, I have to go with the oft-mentioned Yeager class.

Plus, one has to wonder just what the remaining ships of the class are named?

USS Hedgetrimmer?
USS Vaporwader?

:wtf:

Cheers,

The Steamrunner really is a cool ship. It's very unique compared to the others. Small, too. As far as names, besides the class name the only other one is USS Appalachia.

Not counting the various kitbashes concocted for Wolf 359 and the various DS9 battles, my least favorites are the Norway, Steamrunner, and Saber classes from Star Trek: First Contact.

^ I love the Saber class. I thought it was lean and mean and badass.

The Norway wasn't bad, either. Too bad the CGI data regarding that 'model' was lost due to a computer glitch, so we could have never seen it again anyway. :sigh:

I think the name Steamrunner is supposed to refer to old steam-powered vessels of the 19th century. "Runs on Steam"?

onscreen: Galaxy. It's proportions are all wrong.

offscreen: Saladin-class destroyer. Seriously, one nacelle?? It works on the Kelvin because there are still 2 sets of warp coils in that one nacelle. The Saladin, however, has one set of coils in that one spindly nacelle. It looks like a death trap, and may as well be a "destroyer of careers".
