What is the ugliest ship in starfleet?

For me it would be the nx-01. The design is fairly sleek, but the plating on it just makes it look like someone painted it over with vomit.

Yuck.

WTH? It's just the Excelsior but with the parts jumbled up!

I have to say, I rather liked things like the Steamrunner, Norway, and the Sabre. The latter in particular looks very sleek.

Anyway, I think the ugliest is the Miranda. That spoiler on the back just doesn't work for me, and it's rather plain otherwise.

And that's just the main hull of the Intrepid mixed with Constitution nacelles and an Ambassador's secondary hull!

I vote for the Yeager-class. Those look more Romulan in design than Federation. Sure the coloration is Fed, but it isn't very "graceful."

I recall thinking that the Scimitar was particularlly ugly and not very inspired. But, that's the Reman Starfleet.

Actually, below the Intrepid saucer hull are two out-of-scale F-14 Tomcats slightly trimmed. And the resulting kitbashed ship is the U.S.S. Elkins NCC-74121.

Here's the explanation from Ex Astris Scientia:
The model is composed of a saucer hull from the Monogram Voyager kit, two pylons of an AMT runabout model, warp nacelles from the AMT Enterprise(-A) and, as weird as it may seem, two almost complete hulls of a 1/32 scale Monogram F-14 Tomcat model. The F-14 hulls are mounted backward, one on port one on starboard. Since the cockpit is a separate part in the Monogram model kit anyway, it was not necessary to cut through the hull, and so there is no hole in the starship's stern. The engine tubes of the fighter jet are facing forward underneath the saucer.

:guffaw:Unsafe!

It looks like they ejected the saucer section and then just couldn't be arsed to reattach it properly. It'll tumble off when they go to warp.

I think this class is probably a troop transport of some kind. The secondary hull looks like a detachable barracks - just leave your marines where they need to be, rest of the ship warps away.

That is actually one of my favorite. I would say the ugliest would have to be u.s.s enterprise B. The one kirk died on.

The Stargazer and Hathaway! Ewwww. Dunno what class starship, probably already mentioned.

Constellation class. I personally like them, though.

Me too, but it's because it has a "workhorse" like design to it. I doubt it was ever considered sleek even when she was a prototype, but that she had her fans because of output. Kind of like how some would prefer, say, the industrial, mechanical look of a battleship over the contours of a yacht or cruise ship.

I guess that means I like the Constellation because she's an ugly duckling :)

I honestly think the Constellation class is pretty and not ugly at all. I like the quad nacelles, especially how they are rotated 90 degrees to lie on their sides, making it visually more appealing.
