What is Star Trek Discovery's rewatchability?

Voyager was the first Trek I watched and loved it, but it was only after having watched all the other Trek that I realized how bad some episodes were.

The first season kind of depressed me, so I'll likely wait a few years before doing a season rewatch. Once the season ended, the show kind of became out of sight, out of mind. I'm looking forward to the second season, though, and maybe it will be more upbeat and optimistic. I'd like to find some truly rewatchable episodes in that one.
Had you suggested in the early 2000s this is how fandom would change its attitude towards ENT, they'd think you were just Braga himself (and then tell you to die). Suggest the same will happen with DIS, same reaction. If anything, it's always the newest iteration of Trek that'll get the most scrutiny until the next one comes along. I had to explain in another forum that TNG had a backlash from the Trek fanbase, they didn't believe me until I posted newspaper clippings of TOS actors leading the charge with how they felt "betrayed", "only greed is driving this show", etc.

I mean it makes sense.
Let's say a given Trek series happens to have three mediocre to shitty episodes in a row. If it's "historic Trek" it's not really that big of a deal so long as the series as a whole is good. However, if it's a new Trek series being actively produced, it means three weeks straight of "the sky is falling, Trek is dead, and these showrunners must be fired!"
I skipped out on ENT, but I remember that when VOY was on. The episodes were so up-and-down that if you had three in a row that weren't great, you'd see reactions just like that. The complaints about DS9 were more of the "but it's on a space station!", "this violates Gene's vision!" or "they shifted focus away from Bajor!" varieties. But often (not always), you'd have a lot of the same people who were complaining about DS9 and VOY at the same time. So that's how we got the "Let's go back to TOS/TNG!" breed.

About DS9: I still remember a Trekkie friend of mine insisting, "It's good, but it's not STAR TREK."
Phil Farrand, who wrote the Nitpicker's Guides*, mentally called DS9, "Bajor: Terok Nor" instead of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" during episodes that focused on the Bajorans and Cardassians to help him break the TOS/TNG Paradigm he had in his mind whenever he watched Star Trek.
* They were all in good fun, for those not familiar with them. He'd note all the little goofs in each episode. There were four categories: 1) Plot Oversights, 2) Changed Premises, 3) Equipment Oddities, and 4) Continuity & Production Problems. He did two volumes for TNG (because TNG wasn't finished yet when the first book came out), one for TOS, one for DS9... and then Paramount clamped down on unauthorized books in 1998, so he had to stop.
Another great book before the 1998 clamp-down was The Joy of Trek: How to Enhance Your Relationship With a Star Trek Fan, by Samuel Ramer.

Having had a subscription, I was particularly interested each month in seeing how that was playing out.
(I still have all 374 issues packed away around here somewhere)
Forgot to add that I'm rewatching DISCOVERY for the third time starting today.
Not binging it, just gonna watch a couple of episodes a day so it's all fresh in my head for the start of season 2 next Thursday.

Well, that's disheartening. I always thought the "not real Star Trek" criticism was really original and unique.
I've re-watched it on Netflix, my favourite episode is the Harry Mudd one, despite the silly ending.

In fairness to Enterprise, I do think it improved after season 2. Voyager however, got worse after season 4.
DIdn't Netflix release some list of the most popular Trek episodes and it was mostly episodes of Voyager?
But Enterprise did improve after season 2, drastically so.
