What happened after Voyager returned home?

What if Kes got back to her home planet, and all the Ocampa were stuck understand starving. Or what if they had to come up to the surface, and became enslaved by the Kazon. It'd be really interesting to revisit planets seen early in the series, years later.

I agree. Kes or no Kes I would love to know about the fate of the rest of the Ocampa

It's all just assumptions since energy beings don't actually exist. There's no canon support that she was in an afterlife either. Since she was seen on screen as looking older clearly she did age. Perhaps the boost she gave Voyager in The Gift drained something from her and took some of her life force and that's why she looked older.
That's fantasies and theories as well.

Watch "Caretaker" again!
The Caretaker was a sporocystian life-form, not an energy being.

Even if that's not Kes in Fury, (and I'm not convinced that it is Kes), it's still canon. You can't deny that. You can hate it, despise it, even wish it was different, but you can't deny a proven fact.
I'm not convinced that it is Kes either.

How could it not be Kes in Fury?
Because the pathetic creature who showed up in that pitiful excuse for a Star Trek Voyager episode had no resemblance to Kes at all. Not in looks and definitely not in manners.
OK, it could have been Kes's grandmother's crazy aunt but more likely it was Suspiria in disguise or some evil being from another reality.
Maybe it was Berman in disguise? Or Braga?

Exactly. By the end of season 4 she would look in her 40s, 50s by the end of season 5, and so on. What would be the point of establishing things about the species if you just change it later? The shorter lifespan is much more interesting and unique in my opinion

Then what was the point of giving The Doctor the holographic emitter? It radically changed the character's premise. What was the point of bringing back Spock after he was killed in "The Wrath Of Khan"? And what was the point of giving Quinn a human lifespan so he could kill himself?
The shorter lifespan was a mistake. A species with such a short lifespan would never develope to anything more than a primate. And since it was established in "Cold Fire" that the Ocampa could prolong their lifespans it would definitely have been possible for Kes.
I see nothing interesting or unique in such a failure that this lifespan was.

I would have loved some canon stuff post voyager ;)
As for Kes it sounds nice that she used her powers to go back to her home planet and help them
Now why should she ever want to go back there?
Kes is an explorer and a person who want adventure. She would rather go to the Alpha Quadrant or Gamma Quadrant to learn and explore. That is her nature. Or are we all of a sudden looking at another attempt to "change what has been established in season 1" ;)
As for the Ocampa, it would be more logical if Tanis and the Ocampa on Suspiria's array would launch some resque expedition to their old planet. They could kick some butt and make the Kazon-Ogla regret that they ever set their feet on that planet.

However, there are plenty of ways one could have had Kes re-invented to show up in the post Voyager years. I wouldn't have minded really knowing what became of her.
Go to the Kes Website and read the Kes stories!:techman:

:), mabye we should start a petition to get them to do a reunion ep.
It's been 20 years...that not likely to happen. ;)

I've been enjoying the novels that are set after they got home. The first couple weren't that great but the last ones that Kristen Beyer wrote are very good.

He wasn't an energy being. But another thought is that maybe Kes looked that way in Fury because it was more of a physical manifestation of her emotional state. Since she was angry and confused maybe that's how her physical form came back. On a bit of a side note I think they did the old age makeup very well.

To address the evolutions comment Lynx made...I think you are misunderstanding evolition. Natural selection occurs on a generational basis. An individual organism doesn't change, a population does, so a species with a shorter lifespan would have more evolutionary changes. For this reason we usually notice more dramatic changes in insects and microbial organisms than large animals with long reproductive cycles because of the time it takes for those populations to change.

We only saw her talk to her dad and she mentioned scheduling a talk with her cousin before that

I still don't get why she talked to her dad, I mean, he up and left her, and then all of a sudden, she's talking to him. How did she even know where to find him?

I didn't know Tom and Kes had a kid...I wonder what Lanna would think of that lol.

What's the name of the book series? I will have to look them up.

Janeway - Promoted to the admiralty and initially placed in charge of a new unit of Starfleet Science reviewing and sorting through all the data Voyager collected, gave quite a few speeches across the Federation about her experiences, taught a class or two at the Academy, before moving into a position at Starfleet Command.

Chakotay - Returned to the former DMZ where he defused rising tensions among the refugees in the region and restored some resemblance of peace and order to the region, ultimately becoming a spokesperson for those who remained in the area and sought autonomy from the Federation.

Tuvok - Returned to Vulcan to be cured and spend time with his family, then took a teaching post at the Academy. After eighteen months back in the AQ he was selected to become the First Officer onboard the newly refitted and repaired U.S.S. Voyager for her historic mission to the Gamma Quadrant.

Paris - Settled on Earth, where he reconnected with his father and became a test pilot for the S.C.E. trialling out new ship or engine designs, wanting to be close to his family. He would remain in the Sol System after Torres received her new orders, being a doting dad.

Torres - Settled on Earth with her family, took up a role teaching Engineering at the Academy under Professor Chapman, as well as consulting on the refit/repair of Voyager. Once the starship was released from dry-dock she was assigned once again as her Chief Engineer.

Kim - Finally got a promotion and took an assignment onboard a deep space vessel.

EMH - After considerable diagnostics at Jupiter Station was assigned to Starfleet Medical.

Seven - Was the object of much scrutiny and study, provided Starfleet Tactical with considerable insight into the Borg. Was assigned to Janeway's unit before taking up a special consultant post with the S.C.E. Her relationship with Chakotay ended very soon after returning to the AQ.

Neelix - The Talaxian colony was assimilated by the Borg two months after Voyager returned home.

Kes - After her older self was prevented from seeking revenge on Voyager she returned home, where she used all that she was to send the Ocampa across the galaxy to the AQ where they were recovered by Starfleet and resettled, with many now worshipping Kes--who gave her life to ensure they survived.

U.S.S. Voyager - Extensively refitted and repaired after seven years in the DQ, which took eighteen months to complete. Once the work was finished a new, though highly-controversial, CO was given command; Erika Benteen. She selected a new crew, including a few old crewmembers, to go on a deep space exploratory mission into the Gamma Quadrant, the first of its kind since the end of the Dominion War.

Her dad reached out to her. She had planned to talk to her cousin when she received the letter from her father asking for the video chat. Initiallly she was going to ignore it but Tom had suggested she hear what he had to say

Last I had heard, the "Relaunch" novels were not considered part of the Star Trek canon. I hope this is true. The novels transformed Tom Paris into this "model" Starfleet officer (which is depressing and unlike his character). And Harry Kim eventually became the "Chief Security Officer", which is a waste for someone who was an engineer and Chief Operations Officer. I've never been that interested in them.

They're as official as anything else.

Since Discovery is making a break from canon and will be set too early to invalidate anything in the post 2381 world.

They're canon until another 24th century series is produced during 2381-2400 that chooses to ignore both them and the run up to Star Trek Online (which is "the other" continuity after Voyager).

No novel is canon...but theses are as close as we'll get. I agree about Harrry
