What games are you playing currently?

WTF is Ubisoft doing? cancelling PoP the sands of time, essentially the month it was supposed to launch?

not even delaying it until ready, just outright cancelling one of the most anticipated remakes....

someone PLEASE explain this to me, thanks in advance!!

Ubisoft also laid off lots of people. I think they are circling the drain

Ironically something like Prince of Persia could have sold really well. But at the same time, I think Ubisoft has had too many expectations. AAA gaming is getting more and more expensive, and I think there's an argument in there somewhere that could be made about giving dormant IPs to smaller independent developers to make AA releases. Just using Prince of Persia as an example, it doesn't have the appeal or name recognition it once had, and the IP could be developed by a smaller emerging studio that if successful, could reignite the IP as well as the studio making a name for themselves, which feels like a win. Could be sort of like an IP incubator. If successful the studio could either get the option to continue with said IP or hand the IP off to one of the bigger in-house studios for followups.

To me there's no reason why a lower-profile IP like this needs to be AAA. Assassin's Creed which was supposedly spun off from Prince of Persia, has long eclipsed it in players' minds. I think it needs time to slowly rebuild itself in the minds of players.

Playing Menace currently.

It is quite good and has deep tactics layers but that makes it not an easy game to play. especially since the tutorial can be barely called that. Also i was either inattentive or dumb but i thought this was the full game but instead it's early access, so things will still be happening.

I honestly thought I was going to hate The Outer Worlds 2 but I'm doing a second run and it's actually a hell of a lot of fun.

Not my gameplay but found this video of someone who took their flying mount in Horizon Forbidden West and flew it across the map to Meridian from the first Horizon game, you see big chunks of the old map are inside the second game. They used those chunks for cutscenes at the start of the game but the maps are still there if you can get through some invisible walls. Hopefully it's not patched.

I wish devs would just let us do this and not block us.

just late last night i was playing leech hunter mode in resident evil 0 for my Gamecube. i ended up with like 95 or little less leech gems. but ended up getting the Magnum reward anyway. i swear i looked everywhere every nook and cranny for those frikkin leech gems

^ Games that make you collect things in order to progress annoy me. I'm currently playing a point and click adventure game that has a money system, in that you need to buy items in a general store, but you need to find the money hidden in cupboards and you only get $1 to $2 to $4 at a time, which I find incredibly tedious. I thought I had found all the money I could up to this point too and used it all up, and I still needed more, and thankfully I found an extra dollar that I needed in order to play a mini-game necessary for progression. And I was hoping I wouldn't need money again after this, but thankfully this minigame allows you to grind out more money. IMHO they should have removed the money system altogether if they were going to make you scrounge for it like this.

I've been trying and failing to get the Mario Kart Wii Deluxe X hack/mod running. 752 tracks.

Back when I was growing up with Mario Kart 64, we had 16. Now we have 752. Insane beyond words.

2nd run of The Outer Worlds 2 and its heaps of fun.

I am doing all the companion quests because this time I managed to get all of them, first time around missed a couple

I have still been playing the heck out of MK Amped Up. Been strapped for time lately and it is fun to do a quick circuit.

That seems like a possible misunderstanding, as I've seen actually encouragement that this is a possible avenue in the game. Plus, I think it's wrong to equate personal views over what is possible in a game.

Considering it's literally one of the things that the devs might well have expected people would try

In that case, you make NPCs unkillable, but then you run into an issue where because of the story they're telling and you're picking sides, you might need to kill them anyway. I guess one way to do it is to only allow their kills once a certain quest is flagged.

On the other hand, it's possible certain people might be triggered by the very idea, but again that's certainly no reason to get banned over it. There might even be achievements for it. And if that's the case, then it certainly means the devs fully expect the players to try it.

The money thing in the game I'm playing now, ie The Westerner, is rather dumb. It's a point and click adventure game, but somehow you have to scrounge up for money to do certain things, and there's a set amount of money in the game world, but then you have these minigames that cost a dollar for each try, so if you're simply unlucky you can actually run out of money and not be able to proceed. To make matters worse, the game seems to have a bug when it comes to the shooting minigame, in that if you hit a civilian while in the minigame by mistake it will reset your save and set your dollar amount to 0. Then you have to grind it back up, which I've had to do several times before I realized what was happening.
