What games are you playing currently?

Still playing Baldur's Gate 3, beset by the dreaded Act 3 fatigue 183 hours in. I've realized my unease is mostly coming from having already tied up the personal quests of most of my companions to what I hope is their best possible ending as well as all the side-plot threads left dangling from earlier in the game, and there's really nothing left to do but the endgame. I've grown really attached to my character, in great part because of the myriads of dialogue choices and various ways of resolving situations helped her become wish fulfillment in not only just her appearance but also in how easy it was to really imagine myself as this cool and badass heroine. Losing her as well as the friendships (and in one case, much more - no points for guessing who it is) I've cultivated with my companions and having to start everything all over again from the beginning is simply not something I'm mentally prepared for yet. Truly a masterpiece of gaming.

I did save the Raphael bossfight just so that I could relive the catharsis of blowing him up with every piece of explosive in the game whenever something at my work annoys me.

I also play BG3. I am in act three and am a little bit tired of the crashing of the game every couple of hours. And when I started act three, steam stopped keeping up my statistics. So I dont know how much % of the game I still have to play, my choices compared to other players etc

The same game is on GOG without drm and seems to run ok no crashing so far. I mucked around in it for a few hours

Thanks, maybe I am going to try that if the crashing keep on happening.

The reason I like the statistics mostly is because two friends of mine are also playing BG3. And could compare the statistics, what each did differently etc

With steam make sure that the actual steam program is also up to date, you can do that from the user menu under steam "check for steam client updates" sometimes it goes funny if the steam app itself isn't updated.

Ouch, that sounds really rough. I can't really help because my install has always been remarkably stable with the exception of my mods breaking as expected after Patch 7 came out, but then again, my Steam client is set to search for updates as soon as I boot up, so that might really be a potential reason.

When I start Steam, It is set to search for updates, so that unfortunately doesn't help. But thanks for your help

I'd mentioned getting a Meta Quest 3 recently, and it came with the new Batman: Arkham Shadows game. This game takes all the hallmarks of the Arkham games and places it within a first-person POV. And it's incredible and intense. I found myself getting quite sweaty by the end of an hour's session, and by then I had to recharge the headset. Trading blows with the enemies is very physical, and has you swinging your arms and seeing them go flying is very satisfying. Gadgets are also very well implemented. You reach for your batarang via the chest, activate detective mode by making a motion towards your ear, and it even has you grabbing the cap at your sides in order to glide.

I discovered Wartales. It's a bit of a rough climb and I'm only now managing to not kill most of the mercenary band that I have.

Just completed Jagged Alliance 3. For everyone who likes turn based squad tactical games like X-Com this is for you.

The campaign is awesome if a bit expansive, i have spent a little over 80 hours on it, time flies though i restarted the game about 10 hours in since i got stuck. By the end though i just wanted to get it over with and left out some crucial side missions which gave me a rather bleak ending i must say.

Still a great game and your mercenaries are sometimes really hilarious with their comments.

I've been playing Mordor: Shadow of War on my PC. Great game. I felt the original game was fairly dreary due to its colour palette, but it's nice to see this game has is more colourful and even sunny at times.

I finally finished BG3 back in November with a typical good guy Paladin with survivors guilt, made the decisions toward the end both easy and hard cause the choice to be self sacrificial was consistent with my character.

I still haven't recovered, most other games now feel dead to me - it has been some time since I played one as good that I was invested in. One of those rare games where it's another example of "giving the fans what they want is good actually" rather than the algorithm generated slop like Veilguard.

was just playing a little bit of Resident Evil Village for my Playstation 4 an hour ago. fought and killed the first vampire daughter character and wandered around in the courtyard and snooped in on big lady talking to someone on the phone. What I'd like to know is how could she not see Ethan outside where he was hiding under the window?
