What games are you playing currently?

Ever since I got the xbox one first edition; the non s or x version I have had a blast! In that regard I've been playing nba 2k19. I am sporty type gamer who plays mostly sports but i enjoy rpgs and others wrestling etc.

The point of this ---- currently playing and nba 2k19 is ridiculous fun. I have 24 and 23 and I also plan to get 25 but I am just HOOKED on 19 which is physical the others are digital. I am sure i am the only one playing 19 but that's fine. I got 500 hours on 21.

There was a time when I never wanted to upgrade but I'll tell ya what---never imagined once I'd ever look at the xbox one like i do now. I never expected it to be anything addictive or investing time in but I was def surprised to see my attention grabbed. I love playing nba 2k19 (which is what I am currently playing). If i never got rid of my 360, i have no idea if i ever would be playing nba 2k19 today without getting rid of the 360 beforehand and adding a xbox one.

RE Dreamlight Valley: I've been at the endgame for months now and the grind is real. When at the endgame (ie the main story) and you've finished all the friendship quests relating to the main story and maxed out all of those characters, there are fewer quests in between. Then you have the goal of unlocking individual character realms where (bought using the in-game's dreamlight currency), bringing over those characters to the valley after completing their introductory quests.

Once you bring them over, you can begin their respective Dreamlight Valley story-arcs, and each arc-related quest unlocks at every few levels, which means you have to do things such as gardening to level them up. To complicate things, certain quests remain locked until you meet certain conditions, such as unlocking other specific characters, because those quests interact with those characters. This is often how they lengthen the gameplay.

In this instance, in order to progress and unlock Puumba's final quest, even while I've maxed Puumba out, I also have to have Mushu unlocked from her realm. I find that very annoying. Also, this is the first instance (I remember) where a final quest is still locked after maxing because it directly involves another character. Normally those types of quests are in the middle of their arc, which makes this doubly annoying.

And this is not even counting the fact that in the past, you had time-gated objectives. I don't know if they've fixed this, but the game has a day-night cycle tied to your PC or Console's clock. If you load up your game during the day, it will be daytime in the game, vice versa at night. There have been quests that have been difficult to do because they required being in the game at a certain period of the day to find certain items. Being that I'm mostly an evening gamer, and that I have work to do during the day, this was very frustrating to accomplish, and it was necessary to do in order to progress through the main story.

Just got Nascar Heat 4. Haven't been able to stop---so much fun! Looking to get 3 and maybe 5 too but Nascar Heat 4 is amazing. !!! Great soundtrack too.

I got my PS5 Pro on Wednesday, so I started re-playing Spider-man 2.
I’m thinking I’ll do spider man remster, miles morales, and 2 when I finish bg3. I want to play both Horizon games and am bit miffed they took HFW off the service. They need to give us bundle deal with HZD

Pro has definitely added the eye candy and in some case helps game play because you can suddenly identify and see what you’re looking for.

A few days ago, I encountered a pretty interesting but annoying bug in Dreamlight Valley, and I think it started after the latest update that added the Storybook Vale DLC. Basically, I had been doing a quest for Mulan, which required me to mine for specific gems. I had started the quest before the update, and didn't return to the game until a few nights later after the update. As part of the quest, I needed aquamarine gems, and I had some in my stash , yet for some reason, the game decided not to recognize any that I had, either on my stash or on my character. If I mined some, the count would go up in my inventory, but not in the tracked items list as part of the quest. This only ever happened with the Aquamarine, and none of the other gems it required me to mine. I had a total 5 aquamarine on my character and needed 5 to be counted, yet the quest tracker showed I only had two. Bizarre! In the end, I completed the quest, but I had to collect a total of 8 before it would register that I'd collected the 5 I needed. I just don't understand it. I think they may have changed how they track quest items slightly which created a bug, but it still doesn't explain why it was only happening to that one tracked item.

Uncharted Lost Legacy (Legacy collection on PS5) it looks gorgeous and plays almost as well.

I had never played any of the Uncharted games before but wound up playing all of them once I got a PS5. They're such fun adventure games.

Yeah, they're great games. And did you know, that in Japan, they had created a series of commercials when the 3rd game came out featuring Harrison Ford? It's funny because it's so meta seeing as the Uncharted games were heavily inspired by Indiana Jones. He certainly seems to think it's 'exciting' ;)

I completed Lost Legacy tonight and the last part of the game was some what annoying mainly because of respawning enemies as your trying to complete your main objectives. The arc at the end seemed a little rushed and the main villain was way under developed in my opinion. The majority of the game was fun though and the open world aspect to it in the middle was a refreshing change. It looks so beautiful on the PS5. The also did a great job of developing the Chole Frazer character. I felt Nadine was a little under baked though the interactions between the two were great.

Uncharted - 7.5
Uncharted 2 - 9.0
Uncharted 3 - 8.0
Uncharted 4 - 8.0
Lost Legacy - 8.0

Legacy would of gotten 8.5 but the game feel back into some UC tropes that after 5 games I'm a little bored of and they still have that problem of finishing the game to the same standard as the rest of the game before it.

Replayed Half-Life 2 for the 20th anniversary, it still stands up so well and is so much fun today. In fact, too much fun - I kept thinking of the dystopian setting and horrors you see, not quite fitting with me giggling at silly gravity gun murders and building giant towers to try and get out-of-bounds.

I find it quite surprising that aside from Alyx, they haven't gone head to make another game in the same universe, kind of like how Portal is set there. Wouldn't have to be a sequel to anything. I think the problem with HL2: Episode 3 was that by that point, there were so many expectations, and by going with an episodic format, they kind of wore themselves out.

Although what they make is usually fantastic, Valve aren't very good at actually getting games done. Episode Three was cancelled because Valve were tired of the HL2 format and thought they couldn't make something that would stand out (according to their HL2 20th anniversary documentary). And they also cancelled a bunch of HL2 episodes being made by other developers, like Return to Ravenholm and 2 more. I'd have loved to see loads of different stories in the universe, but I guess fan mods like Entropy: Zero have done that.

Yeah, which is why I had said I didn't think the episodic format ended up working for them. I wonder if we'll still get a HL3 from them at some point.

I beat Metaphor: ReFantazio yesterday, so now I've started playing The Sky Breaker DLC for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

I started replaying Batman: Arkham Asylum last night. I got the trilogy of games awhile back when they were on sale. It's been awhile since I've played the first game, but it's also kind of weird how everything is coming back to me in terms of the level design. As the game that brought a lot of innovation to the genre, it's easy to realize that many more innovations have been made since its release, and it does feel kind of rough in places. For example, I keep trying to hit the triangle button to quickly get to the next enemy like I can in Spiderman, and it's a weird feeling of not being able to do it (unless I have to unlock it further into the game) but it's a convenience I very much miss, as I find myself walking or running to the next Brute.
