I'm on Star Wars Outlaws right now. I'm really enjoying it. The game seems to be getting review in the area of a 70... which is fair. It's good, it's not great, but not every game needs to be a masterpiece. It's a solid, fun game.

This game feels very Star Wars in the purest sense. It's more on the lighthearted side, despite it dealing with crime syndicates and the like. The overall vibe of this game is what I want Star Wars to be. Serious enough to add drama, light hearted enough to be able to laugh at itself a bit.

After this, I plan to move to Space Marine 2.

I just beat Astro Bot. Now I just need to complete the final challenge level.
I'm also having a ton of fun with Star Wars: Outlaws.

Rise Of The Tomb Raider via xbox games on PC.

It's only taken me 3 weeks to progress the game. At the part of the game just before you hit the Soviet base. Did the cave you have to enter with a bear. Took me 3 weeks to get past this because every time I get to the inside of the cave and just inside I get very anxious about the bear.

Finally got past it.

Just finished replaying Ghostbusters: The Game (the Xbox 360 version on Series X). Its fun, if a little janky at times. The big draw is the full cast returning to voice their characters and they all do a good job, even Murray (who yoiu'd expect to phone it in) does a pretty good job, and all four Ghostbusters get a good amoung of dialog in cutscenes and in game. Definitely a must play for fans of the franchise, although they'd probably prefer the 2019 remaster of the game.

Caravan Sandwitch - fun open world exploration game.. Reminds me a lot of the art style of games like Donut County which I never finished. Just bugged out on me too many times.

I loved that game, and I wish they'd do a followup set after Frozen Empire.

Finally they ported God of War Ragnarok to PC and i have started to dabble in it. If it weren't for the massive PS5 shortages during Covid and only my half hearted efforts to hunt one down i would have played it long ago.

I just really dig the gameplay style and above all the story that was just brilliant on top of the very well done hack&slay. I hope the sequel measures up.

Other than that still have to play other games i bought and didn't yet really play. Homeworld 3, Frostpunk and now Frostpunk 2, Sifu, Hogwarts Legacy - all massive time sink games.

Fortunately Space Marine 2 was done in a few days ( I'm a slow gamer these days). About 10 hours of Single Player content but i'm not so keen on multiplayer so i'll be waiting until they patch in Single Player Option for the side missions. Gameplay is nothing groundbreaking but man does it look amazing when you stop and just take a look around. They nailed the atmosphere 100%.

Earthbound was adorable, and won't be forgotten any time soon. Such a shame Earthbound 64 never happened.

I finally finished Polymerikum, which is a free and utterly fantastic PC first person horror, with graphics that are like PS1 cutscenes come to life.

Finished Outlaws and enjoyed the campaign. Ubisoft still suffers from not putting any effort into side quests. All the faction stuff is just go there, do this and while you do earn reputation with the faction, you don't really gain any insight into the faction or characters you deal with. For me they became a means to an end - either get gear, upgrade parts, or level your skills. It was really a missed opportunity, imo because the factions are interesting and had they been treated more like guilds you could progress through without necessarily joining but learned more about it would've made the game so much better. The idea was there with rep and rewards and even with your choices favoring one at the cost of another (which reminded me of TES when you couldn't join everything because some groups were in conflict with the other) but because you never learn much of anything about the syndicates it doesn't feel like anything you do for or against them matters (you can always regain rep but even if you don't there's not much consequence beyond having to be more careful going through that faction's territory). In the end I found myself just completing the campaign and skipping a lot syndicate jobs because they were low reward and low content.

It's good enough though that I'll buy the DLC when it comes out.

Last night, I started a new playthrough of Starfield with the intention of playing Shattered Space when I hit the right level. I'm looking forward to finally having decent mods (still a bit flummoxed that Beth took so long to give true mod support but they priotized paid mods errr creations).

Over the course of the last two months or so, I've been making my way through the Heretic/Hexen games, and I think I've been the most impressed with the original Hexen. Frankly, the amount of complexity in the level design and its puzzles is quite impressive for the time. Hexen II on the other hand I don't feel has aged nearly as well. Maybe it's in part with how the Quake engine works, but it has many of the symptoms of early 3D games, in that it's quite clunky and bulky in nature, and I find the fact that there's no use key a detriment. An interesting experiment, to be sure, but you can easily get yourself in a mess by opening a door before you're ready while fighting something. Also feels much more satisfying to be able to use a Use key. This is a series I wish they could reboot, as I think it could fit into a niche currently not being served.
