What games are you playing currently?

I'm taking another short break from The Witcher III to play the new Spider-Man PS4 DLC, The City That Never Sleeps Chapter Two: Turf Wars.

I've been trying to play Nier Automata, but it is extremely boring. A huge world that only mexists so you can spend literally 6-10 mintues just walking to the next story location, bland combat and a story that is both boring and requires you to beat the game 4-5 times (and the first two times are the exact same thing done twice in a row). I'm about 90 minutes in, but I think I'm done with the game. Luckily I got it on sale, so I don't feel too ripped off.

I'm trying to decide if I should play the new Call of Cthulhu game or Vampyr next. I'll probably play Cthulhu, since its supposed to be shorter.

Did you like how Nier Automata mixed different play styles?

Well I don't like shoot em up games, but I put it on easy and let the game play those for me (I wouldn't have gotten past the BS long prologue without the auto chips), so the answer to your question is no, I don't like the style changes. But, if the story was better and the world not so boring to travel through, the shooter parts would be a non issue because of the auto chips.

Auto chips????

I don't get no stinking auto chips?

I'd wish I had known of these

I don't know if it's me or the game, but the new Spider-Man DLC is kicking my ass. I ended up giving up entirely on one of the stealth challenges, and have struggled on the combat challenges, which I really didn't have much trouble with in the main game. It's even been taking me a bunch of tries just to get through the fights in the story missions.

Am I allowed to say that Shadow Of The Tomb Raider isn't particularly exciting. As a Tomb Raider game goes it's pretty meh.

Yeah I know it's a reboot. Yeah I know they for reasons had to remake Lara Croft. But modern Lara Croft kind of sucks. She's not fun.

^ Yeah I didn't love Shadow of the TR either. I really enjoyed the first (new) TR and I also really liked the gameplay in Rise of the TR. But Shadow was quite disappointed. By far the best thing about it was the Deadly Obsession difficulty which only saves the game at camp fires. I really enjoyed playing the game that way.

At this point in time I think I'll be happy to finish the story and maybe go back for some collectibles and revisit some areas. I didn't much care for the actual tombs either.

Oh and the story what the hell was that? It was all over the place.

You know what I miss in games.

When certain dates changed the way the game looked so you got a nice surprise when you loaded up the game. There was only one game I owned though that did this and it was Rise Of The Triad. That was the 90s and a lot of games back then did that.

Hah yeah, I remember those. I think they don't do it anymore because it's likely time consuming to program in something that will only be seen for certain periods. Although the practice does still live on in some way. I have a Roku and its background changes depending on the holidays. Netflix has also done it for Halloween this year.

15 deaths later I did the stupid mudslide in Shadow Of The Tomb Raider. Fucking stupid timed events. Fucking hell that was stupid. Fuck, fuck.

At least the game will be over soon thank god.
