What games are you playing currently?

I completed Lara Croft GO (and I also got the platinum trophy) yesterday and then I started playing The Deadly Tower of Monsters.

Finished The Witcher 3
Geralt had retired with Yen.
Ciri is off doing the witcher thing
Emhyr is still alive, but the lands of Temeria were restored.
Cerys was left in charge of Skellige

are you playing in VATS all of the time or how can you stand the clunky combat?

seriously, I love Fallout 3, but that is fucking hard to go back to at this point

I think it plays pretty well for a nearly decade old game. Runs really smooth on the Xbox One.

How is it? Is it anything like the original classic? I have been debating picking it up myself.

I have the original (Black Mesa I mean) so I'm not sure how much it's been updated on Steam since then as the original release wasn't as hooked into steam. It didn't have all the HL levels, but was very close to the original. There are some differences as it's in the source engine (so some of the physics stuff is in there), Some of the enemies are more difficult and weapons rebalanced but I thought it was very good.

For my next game, I'm going to try The Witcher 2.

Hope you like The Witcher 2. I felt I had a better overall experience with that game compared to the original. I did have some difficulty with the first boss, which I solved by actually changing to a lower resolution. Something about the speed of my computer made it impossible to get something specific triggered and preventing any progress unless I dropped it,

I've got the first, but haven't really got that much into it as I'm still trying to figure out the combat on it. (My attempts so far has Geralt wandering around with his sword raised, but not swinging. Guess I need to read the manual again:lol:)

The third flowed pretty well, but I know I'm playing them in completely the wrong order:hugegrin:

I'm making my way through Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning on the Xbox 360. It's fun and the story and characters are unique though I recognize a lot of Elder Scrolls in it. It's too bad the game failed and the company went bankrupt.

I'm also playing Star Wars: X-wing Alliance on PC. Hooray for GoG! I loved all those Star Wars combat sims back in the 90's. Once I'm done with all of them I'm going to get Freespace 1 and 2.

Thanks for the info, I will probably pick Black Mesa up during the next Steam Sale.

I have been (re-)playing Mass Effect 2 after finishing Dishonored 2. I had forgotten just how much FUN ME:2 is.

Yeah, one of the things that peeved me about the first game was the combat. It punishes you at the start and it can be quite difficult especially if you don't know what you're doing as enemies can easily gang up on you and catch you off-guard. Once they do, it can be quite difficult to recover. It's one of those rare games that get easier as it goes along though. By mid-game, you get enough skills and abilities and death becomes less of an issue. The trick to the combat is that it's all based on timing. You want to swing at specific times. And that's also the key to getting combos. Once your hits connect, you'll get combos. The downside about this system though is that when enemies gang up on you, they'll interrupt your timing which can often mean instant death seeing as you can't up up a defense. That does become less of an issue midway through.

Now, regretfully, I have to admit, I never actually beat the game. I was so close. But I got stuck in a situation that I couldn't recover from, ie didn't pay enough attention to something in the game because it's not something I felt like doing, which then became important in the last stage of the game. There was no way out of it.

Currently playing Stellaris with the Star Trek mod. The amount of work and effort that's gone into it is amazing. It almost feels like an official Trek game.

Right now I am playing some War Thunder. It has been a on/off affair for me with games lately. I might also try out deserts of kharak soon if I have the time.

I definitely recommend that mod, too. Started playing it myself this past week. It obviously still needs work but the amount of content it has already is quite impressive.

Right now I'm still trying to get United Earth out from under the thumb of the Vulcan High Command, but they won't let us be independent because they don't trust me.

Fallout: New Vegas, emulated on the Xbox One. Both Fallout games run flawlessly on the new system. Which is nice because they were such buggy messes on the PS3/Xbox 360.

Giving Shadow Complex (Remastered) a go. There's a few others I want to try some more of (Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 again, finish off Injustice and the Namco Trek game). Now that I've got some more HD space, I can try some of the older ones that I haven't finished - while keeping an eye out for any deals:)

Also fancy a quick run through of Tomb Raider 2013 again.
