What games are you playing currently?

Destiny - but got The Division, Last of Us, and Fallout 4 for Christmas. Also have to finish Shadows of Mordor in there somewhere...

I got the LEGO Avengers platinum during my break. I'm still working on getting to 100%.
I also started playing Dishonored 2 a few days ago.

Got 100% for Lego The Lego Movie Videogame this afternoon, nearly two years after I first started playing it.

A guy I work with loaned me The Evil Within, so I'll be giving that a try soon. I loaned him the three "Arkham" games for the 360 - Asylum, City & Origins.

Elite dangerous, the scope of space in this game is mind numbing, i am sure i can now pilot a carft through space in real life. lol

Got Paper Mario Color Splash for Christmas, so I started playing that along with getting back into some Splatoon over the last few weeks. Also playing Link's Awakening on the 3DS.

And because I decided that I had way too much free time, decided to pick up Stellaris on the last day of the Steam sale. Already in the double digits of hours played.

Get yourself a "Pro" Hotas Setup (Hands on Throttle and Stick meaning a Joystick and a Throttlesystem) and start assigning Control Buttons to the million functions. Once you memorized them and can handle this it becomes a real beauty and you really feel like a Sci Fi pilot switching effortlessly through your ship systems while dogfighting some Pirates or calling for a docking clearance and then showboating a little inside the station while you expertly maneuver your ship to the landing place.

Unfortunately i got a crap Hotas System from Saitek that was a major pain in the ass to install because the drivers are absolute crap and fickle like hell.. i consoled myself that the physical quality of the rig was top (and it was) but then the stick broke down to and didn't react to maneuver controls and some buttons anymore: Fortunately Amazon took back the system and gave me a full refund.

I have deinstalled Elite since but i really miss these times.. felt really cool with hands on Throttle and Stick zooming through the Galaxy.

^^Yeah it is on the xbox which is no doubt somewhat easier to play than the PC version, which i can only imagine is a massive key feast PC control wise, and i had enough trouble learning how to take off, land, land, land, land, hyper jump, land, actually stop in time to enter your destination, did i say land, with a game pad...lol.....game has a really steep learning curve, i have not even touched combat yet, or anything else apart from safe courior jobs, but damn is it a cracking game, how they have portrayed the size and scope of space in this thing is just amazing, to fly into a system, head towards a system of planets, only to find that what you thought was a planet or station turns out to be another system of planets orbiting around what you at first thought was a small planet. lol

Combat is actually easy once you are familiar with the controls. I have found that the easiest approach is to use gimballed weapons, i.e. weapons that track the targeted ship and fire/hit consistently once you are in a certain arc (medium/short distance works best) so you don't have to dogfight precisely and keep the enemy ships in your crosshairs.

They do a little less damage than fixed weapons but you hit more (unless you are an ace pilot) so set your weapons and energy to maximum and get on the tail of a ship and blast away.

One other advise is to not box way out of your weight class (unless you have a seriously outfitted fighter with top weapons and systems).. sometimes one or two passes from one of the big ships like an Anaconda is enough to cripple you and forget going against an experienced real human player who will not give you the slightest chance to win the fight.

Last advice.. don't tangle with multiple ships at once (more than 2) if you can help it. By the time you finish one the others will have stripped your shields down and will hammer your hull and then it will be over fast. You can try maybe 2 at once if your firepower is way above theirs but anything beyond that is pushing your luck. If however someone else has started a fight with an enemy wing feel free to join and score some cash by blasting wanted criminals.

I love the freedom in the game. Even with the 3 basic ways of making money (Bounty Hunting, Explorer or Trader) it rarely gets boring.. there's always this goal of getting the next better ship, flying that much further out or hunting down a wanted criminal across several systems, pulling him out of hyperspace and shooting him to pieces to collect the bounty.
For added kicks you can also try your hand at smuggling but for this you better have some experience because you will light up on every patrol scan and landing in a space station can be extremely tricky without getting caught and fined.

Have fun.

^^Yeah, i am enjoying the simply delivery runs, i am up to 600,000 in cash, just bought myself a ASP, and a docking computer,(Thank god! lol), and a fuel scoop, so much in this game it will take month's to get to grips with it all, game has done a really good job of capturing the original, andthe last time i played this was on the Amstrad cpc 464, pity i could not transfer my save game from the tape, why did the CPC 464 not have cloud saving back in 1986. lol

Ah yes.. the docking computer.

I played Elite on the Amiga back then and it was the first piece of equipment i always bought since it was a real pain in the ass to dock in these stations. Landing in one of the new ones is a cakewalk compared to this and i actually enjoy it now (at least on the PC).

Just finished Uncharted 4 and it's a good game (8 out of 10) I am kinda glad the Drake aspect of the franchise is ending. Everything was starting to feel a little played out + copy & pasted from the other 3 games. The story wasn't as strong as 2 & 3 either IMO and my god the last boss battle was probably the worst in all 4 games. Despite all of this UC4 is so dam beautiful, the characters are witty as ever and its still like playing a Hollywood summer blockbuster. Also the epilogue made me realise how much I am going to miss Nathan, Elena and Sully :(

Going to play the Uncharted Trilogy next on PS4

Here's how I rate the games...

Uncharted - 7.5
Uncharted 2 - 9.0
Uncharted 3 - 8.5
Uncharted 4 - 8.0

Playing Pokemon Moon lately along with Pokemon Shuffle. Played a bit of Pokemon Sun. Might do some more training tonight.

Doing a completionist run of Life is Strange, but I'm also going to get back in to The Witcher 3 and see if I can finish that sooner rather than later.
(I've also got 3 Arkham games to try and get round to finishing too:( )
