What games are you playing currently?

It's true. With a lot of older games there was a lot less handholding and you had to find the way yourself, which was a good thing. It taught me patience.

Yeah, newer games are much more forgiving in that respect. Even FPS such as Doom had much less hand holding and required exploration to find keys, whereas nowadays, newer FPSes tend to lead you from one point to the next, from one enemy encounter to the next. I feel that leads to less of a sense of accomplishment. Older FPSes required more clever level design in order to circumvent limitations, which led to more memorable levels overall.

I just realized I did in fact have Down In Bermuda in my steam library, and I just did the first two puzzles, finished Secret Base Island, and it's a really nice relaxing game. Lots of fun.

Wow gaming fandom people are burning Star Wars Outlaws in their commentaries online. Yet the preorder culture continues Ubisoft claim the game has gone gold even before release but it really does look terrible, graphics look sucky

I think it looks fine, look forward to playing it.

Yeah, it's a fairly simple and short game. I've already completed it. The one thing I have to point out that I found annoying is on the final island. In this one, you have to complete puzzles in order for the character to move along to the next phase. One of these puzzles is a memory sequence similar to those simon games; you have to follow the sequence in which mushrooms light up, only I found the sequence animated far too quickly to be able to memorize properly. Thankfully it appears in a loop and repeats itself until you give it a try. What I did was I took a video using a camera, then played it back and paused it at every step. It was the only way I could do it. This part feels like it needed playtesting as I felt it was beyond the ability of most people.

That's going to be the bit that might trip me up..

I'm just starting Forest Island

I started playing Fields of Mistria in early access and am a wee bit obsessed.

Saw the Civ VII gameplay trailers: hype is much diminished. Humankind was not popular, not sure why Civ wants to ape one of its central features.

Yeah, I'm with you there. There was a point in time where they were everywhere and overused. I'm reminded of Shenmue II. That game was loaded with them. There's one point in the game where you have to climb a tower. But instead of doing it like an action game where you physically traverse it, they would throw you QTEs, which were really annoying. Thankfully the industry seems to have moved away from their obsession with QTEs and use them seldomly.

I am chilling playing Submerged and Submerged Hidden Depths after I finish the first one, really nice play at your own pace game, no combat, no dying, just fun and gorgeous graphics.

I gave up on DUTM the QTEs were not my cup of tea as was the on screen timer. Sorry guys didn't like that
