What games are you playing currently?

I really need to check out the new God of War sometime, I loved the first two back when they came out. Sadly, I never got around to paying the 3rd one either.

I love the original trilogy. Especially the third one. So I was super stoked about the new God of War. Then I played it. For about five hours or so. I just couldn't get into it. Kratos' fury that was his trademark in the originals is just a sort of simmering rage in this one. And I absolutely can't stand kid side kicks or characters. They're usually pretty annoying. So, I felt like God of War wasn't my cup of tea.

After having finished Assassin's Creed Valhalla, I'm kind of getting the itch to try God of War again. Maybe since I lowered my expectations of it being a direct continuation of the original games, I'll be able to get into it this time.

I am currently playing The Medium, saw a couple of beginning episodes of Little Nightmares II, stopped watching the let's plays, and then bought the game. Having a game pad is really amazing.
I've been watching videos and I'm really wanting to play The Medium. It will definitely be one of the first games I get when I finally manage to snag a Series X.

Oh this looks like fun

On console too I think

What i did not like with the new GOW was that the controls felt flat, no weight to Kratos or the axe...

Funny, I felt very much the opposite. Had no interest in the others, but felt compelled to play this one and was absolutely hooked by the gameplay and the story. The kid eventually mellows out.

It was the first game that I played that I saw a Let's Play video of, got to a point, and then stopped because I wanted to experience it for myself. My God it is creepy. It is about as creepy as Little Nightmares 2.

The Mass Effect Legendary trailer got me all nostalgic, but rather than start a whole new Shapard, I've been loading up ME3 and finishing my Femshep Vanguard playthough...who'd been left in the Citadel docks with Allers yelling to get her attention for going on half a decade at this point.
Also been playing rounds of the multiplayer (which is shockingly still quite active) since I never did get all the challenges or max out the inventory...plus when I get to the ending I kinda want to do high EMS Destroy.

Grand Theft Auto V story mode on the Xbox Series S.
Hows the initial loading time for GTA V on the Series S? I played GTA V on the Xbox One YEARS back, and while a super fun and addictive game, the initial loading times were atrocious.

Observation on XBox is a pretty awesome sifi psychological horror puzzle game.

I’m impressed so far. It’s a GamePass game so you can pretty much play for free.

Holy crap after 35 years I FINALLY beat Castlevania for the NES. Super fun game and I enjoy the whole series (at least the 8-bit and 16-bit games), but holy crap are they hard as fuck. Hopefully now this'll give me the motivation to beat Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse and Super Castlevania IV.

Well done. The Dracula fight is damn hard, but it's almost a relief after the gauntlet of Axe Knights followed by Death in stage 5.

I hope you're prepared for Dracula's Curse though. That game is a significant jump in difficulty compared to the first game.

I thought I was screwed I only had one hit left after sending Dracula's head to the moon and him becoming the Cookie Monster. So, I just started spamming the whip and holy water and he died. The fight was hard, but definitely a cakewalk compared to Death

I've heard horror stories about the Dracula fight in Dracula's Curse. At least with Castlevania if you die and game over, you still respawn at the staircase, but in Dracula's Curse you go all the way back to the beginning of the level. And three forms of Dracula  I can't remember the farthest I ever made it, but I think it was the next to the last level. This one might take 35 more years

PC, and yeah, same issue so I'm pretty much spamming one attack type so far:(
since I have written that I have come to love this game. once i got to Teer Fradee the game really opens up and the story telling starts to work. It's a great job of world building, and I like that even your early actions have real consequences

if you like Kurt, do Kurt's missions. Not doing Kurt's quests has real consequences

I started Immortals Fenyx Rising on PS5. Pretty cool game so far. It's like they took some of the combat from Assassin's Creed, the graphics and puzzle mechanics from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and the humor from Saints Row and crammed them all together.

My only complaint is that the game is bright and colorful. Which wouldn't be a bad thing, but my LG C7 OLED is starting to get some bad burn in which is only noticeable on certain colors. Unfortunately, those colors happen to be very prominent in this game :(

Edit: I also platinumed Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which looked and played AMAZING with Performance Mode and ray tracing :)

I am playing Ori and the Will of the Wisps for the second time.
This time I play on hard difficulty.
In some sense it’s easier than normal, after knowing the mechanics a lot better.
The boss fights are damn difficult though.
I am so in love with this franchise!
