If I were allowed to cram as much fanwank into the ending as possible, it would go something like:
As Galaxy-class frames were designed to last 100 years, the Enterprise-D should still have a good few decades left in it. So after it literally saved the Federation again, Starfleet decides to give it a proper refit, recommission it as the NCC-1701-G and place it under the command of either Riker or Worf. My fanwanky wish would be to give Data his own command, but as he died as a Lieutenant Commander, he'd probably be reinstated as a full Commander at most, making him First Officer. The refurbished Enterprise is then sent off by Fleet Admiral Janeway on an exploratory mission to an uncharted region of space, optionally leading a task force that includes the USS Titan under the command of Seven of Nine and the USS Voyager-B under the command of Tuvok. And the adventure continues.
