I love it. I used the same title for a fan story universe once. I think having the dual meaning to the name is pretty neat.

I'm probably somewhere between neutral and like. It feels very Trek but also feels a trifle generic, and much like Voyager it feels very contrived. Oh look a ship called Voyager will have to go on a long voyage, now Discovery will have to, er, discover something? In contrast Enterprise and even Defiant feel much more natural names for a hero ship whilst still evoking a sense of their mission. It just feels very safe and I think they could have gone with something with a trifle more verve, even if it was just a variation of a theme like Odyssey.
^ When you think about it, considering its role in the show, the name Defiant is pretty on-the-nose, too, though.

It does what it says on the tin then. While it does seem familar... going for something obscure is not necessarily great, and I'm not sure what that would be exactly.Star Trek Kyushu or something people would say "what's that?"
Also even with ship names... they give a sense of what they're about (Deep space, a voyage... discovery...)

If you just look at it as a name and not an in-universe Star Trek thing, it really does give off the same vibes as the USS Enterprise. USS Discovery sounds instantly memorable and grandiose, unlike the starship Voyager or space station Deep Space 9.
Discovery is not only a name with a great space history it actually has a lot to do with Star Trekking. It's a great name for a series.

The Voyager program is possibly mankind's single greatest achievement. So far it's the only thing other than radio waves that has anything approaching Star Trek's deep search into the unknown.

Well that's...really just your problem.
The Armagh planetarium here has a scale model of Voyager One hanging from the ceiling in the visitor lounge, before you even see the rest of the place. And when I went to the place with the high school outing in 1997? they printed Voyager (74656 for you, because I need to explain it) stuff everywhere underneath it, and I geeked out, it's the first time I was outed as a Trekkie in public, telling them about it.
