What Did You Have For Dinner Last Night?

Spaghetti with pesto and some chocolate cake. Pretty awesome.

I'm thinking about cooking me some Octopus Paul, though. He'd fit nicely in the paella I'm planning to cook this weekend. :p

The husband and daughter were both out doing their own things for dinner so i foraged. Some Genoa salami, some rotisserie chicken, some fruit salad and a smoothie.

Thai mixed vegetables cooked in garlic sauce, and a prawn and chicken dumpling soup - the soup felt very soothing after a touch of the snuffles.

A friend who grew up in the US South came over and made us a good ol' fashioned Amurikun meal of fried chicken, fried okra, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and "cracklin' gravy" with buttermilk biscuits. Took me back to my childhood when my grandmother (who was raised in Oklahoma) used to make all the same dishes. It was amazing! Though, I could feel my arteries hardening with every bite. :p But, hey, once every 20 years or so can't do too much damage ..., can it?

Been away for a while...camping and busy real life stuff going on. Let's see went to Denny's last night and had a yummy Lumberjack slam that hit the spot. Tonight I had a deli fresh Pepperoni pizza from the supermarket.

meat balls with gravy made from tomato soup seasoned with chili powder, mashed potatoes and brocoli and cauliflower.

Grilled chicken breast
Scalloped potatoes
Chicken stuffing
Cooked Broccoli in garlic butter

Fed three for under $10. :D

Burgers and dogs on the grill, with a pesto pasta salad for which the basil, tomatoes, peppers and other ingredients came from our garden. :techman:
