Oh jeez. You would think that some men had never seen female genitalia in their lives.

I haven't seen these genitalia, no.

Re: What Changes Would You Like To See For "The Omega Glory"

Meh. They're all the same, trust me. Same components, etc.

There are subtle differences (or not so subtle, in the case of the clitoral penis or massive beef curtains). And, save in the case of identical twins, they have different bodies and faces attached to them.

But you're not LOOKING at the FACES!

This is a Star Trek forum. I just thought I should remind you, seeing as how you're giving us guys too much credit.

No "NCC-1672".

Too late. :guffaw:

What irritates me about Okuda going forward with the bizarre Greg Jein numbers is that we know those numbers fly in the face of what Matt Jefferies himself said was the logic of the numbering system -- that the "17" meant it was the seventeenth design, and that the "01" meant it was the first build (presumably after the class ship). How can this identical Exeter be the sixteenth design? Same with their Constellation-- Jefferies used the AMT model, thus giving us a distinctly different ship of a different shape. Different shape, different numbers at the beginning (10 instead of 17). Okuda gives us an identical ship with the "10" leading the number.

It all makes sense until these Jein numbers come in to play, or until you substitute a ship identical to the 11 foot model for the Constellation. Then you just have to throw your hands up and say "it's some backdated, out-of-order numbering system". Which is okay, except for the fact they were supposed to be improving things, and not screwing with what already worked.

^^ aridas, man, don't sweat it. To hell with them. TOS-R don't mean shit anyway. It's no better than revisionist history.

So where can I find this on the internet, as I'm too lazy to get out my DVDs?

The Auspicious Event referenced by hofner occurs at 22:17 on the Region 1 DVD:

*sigh*

I miss Gene Roddenberry. :(

Re: What Changes Would You Like To See For "The Omega Glory"

^^ :wtf:

I NEVER noticed that untill now. Yeah, GR somehow managed to get away with tons of stuff. This ranks right up thaere with the penis shaped rock Kirk is brandishing against Ruk in "What Are Little Girls Made Of?" How in hell did this stuff get past the network censors when they'd have a seizure over a navel showing.

Re: What Changes Would You Like To See For "The Omega Glory"

^ You haven't noticed it, and you've probably watched that episode multiple times, on DVD as well.

The network censors watched it once, on 1960s colour tvs.

ZH, never noticed it either.

Re: What Changes Would You Like To See For "The Omega Glory"

^^ What kills me is that in the world "The Omega Glory" is supposed to be depicting it's perfectly logical and consistent.

Talk about attention to detail in worldbuilding. Notch up another one for why TOS rocks.

Re: What Changes Would You Like To See For "The Omega Glory"

^ Actually, considering the heavy furs the male Kohms and Yangs wear, I'm not sure Sirah's bare midriff and lack of panties makes that much sense.

Re: What Changes Would You Like To See For "The Omega Glory"

^ Both Sirah and her handbag were about to get a few inches trimmed off the top by Kohms when we first encounter them, so I don't believe that it would be too much of a stretch to imagine that they had a little Soviet Red Army-style R&R with the lady before leading her to the chopping block, hence the lack of furs and panties.

Looking at the pictures, shouldn't that "furs" be singular?

It's somewhat atypical for the epoch if my stash of 1960s lesb-, er, sapphic erotica is anything to go by. OTOH, Ms. Kelly's apparent Brazilian Wax may have simply been a direct consequence of The Great Bird's preferred "taste" in female guest stars.

Spock, off-screen: "To shave one's genitals in such a harsh environment is illogical. Erotic and enticing, though, especially in your unconscious state."

Re: What Changes Would You Like To See For "The Omega Glory"

Shaving the pudenda wasn't particularly common in the '60s or '70s...it wasn't until the late '80s it became more commonplace. Interesting.
