What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Randy Quaid was a better actor than Dennis Quaid. Dennis was decent but people forget that Randy was really good before he went crazy. I mean just think of the roles in some of his movies

National Vacation movies
Kingpin
Independence Day
Days of Thunder
Brokeback Mountain
The Last Detail
Quick Change
Parents
The Last Picture Show
The Paper

^ The Navy did have survey ships, manned by trained oceanographers. Their purposes for surveying undersea phenomena were just more war-oriented. But, their survey crews played a big part in the US winning the cold war.

The Klingon "neutral zone", however.... yeesh. Why was it shown as a spheroid in TWOK? That made no sense to me.
Because it was a simulation. So it was a video game map, not a real representation

Alternative reasoning - it's a spherical space around a Klingon planet or system - similar to how in reality a nations seaside border goes a few miles behind the shore, and after that it's international waters.

A concept: a star system environmental zone plus some distance around it, sort of like the territory, territorial waters around a country plus its airspace above a country. A star system's territory extends out to the last dust and debris gravitationally affected by its star(s) plus the space around it out to some distance, for example, one to two light years. YMMV :).

Controversial idea...

In 'Star Trek: Into Darkness', the Vengeance class was to assure complete destruction of the Klingon Empire in under a day.

Taking into account the five hundred Photon Torpedoes...

So assume at least five Vengeance class, plus transporter boost to aid in the unparalleled level of destruction. REQUIRED.

A Vengeance class is, due to their speed and size are able to take out any group of three or more Klingon Battle Cruisers - instantly.

Furthermore the ability to fabricate an additional five hundred Photon Torpedoes overnight is not to be under estimated.

Such that the Vengeance class is not just a First Strike weapon, but an End strike weapon. That is the Klingon Empire is over and done with.
