What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Although that specific episode, "Silent Enemy," has one of the eeriest and most effective alien species in Trek history, a species with a bizarre design and appearance that speaks no words, simply boards the ship to poke around Enterprise's systems and then flies off into the void, never to reappear. Malcolm's birthday cake subplot doesn't bother me but it also does little for me.

It’s one of my favorite early Enterprise episodes despite the Malcolm/Hoshi subplot.

With the 24th having the obvious most. And with at least 616 episodes and 5 movies taking place in that century
This is exactly why I really don't care to see anything further from Matalas. He's basically promised that anything he makes will just be a direct extension of the 24th century, a time period that we've seen more that enough of, IMO. I've grown so tired of the 24th century aesthetic and characters.
The 22nd century got 98 episodes. The 23rd has 102 if you add The Animated Series to TOS, and with the six TOS movies and the opening scene of GEN that's 109 canon stories set in the 23rd century, not much more than ENT gave us for the preceding century.
So what I take from this is that we need more 22nd Star Trek!

You're forgetting the two seasons of SNW that have already aired (20 episodes) and the first two seasons of DISCO (29 episodes).

:(

You forgot polarized hull plating.
Selectively left it out, more like. At least they tried to make it sound interesting and unique even if the actual execution was, "hey, shields but solid metal plates and not an energy field." Polarizing the hull plating never sounded as good as they probably thought it would.
