What are you watching???

We did not look at the times properly, which were not digital back then, or didn't ask the right question, maybe we were in a rush and thought that we were 5 minutes late, but we paid full price to walk into Boomerang at just past the half way mark, and no one noticed until the credits stated rolling at the 35, maybe 40 minute mark since we parked our bums. What an awful movie we thought collectively. What an awfully short movie we also thought collectively. Which is when the group figured out what had happened, that missing the first hour of Boomerang did nothing to make the movie at all unfathomable or mysterious... Which is not easy.

"Sigh"

Bette Midler, One Night Only.

It's weird watching Joanna Lumley (the interviewer) squeeing like a fangirl (hmm. Bette is 6 months older. Both born on the 1st of the month.) for someone I assumed would have been a peer.

Watching the first season of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine on my new Amazon Fire TV. Picture quality is decent but not DVD quality. The show is better than I remember (mostly.) haven't watched it since it was on TV in first run.

I watched:

  • Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (7/10)
  • Hitchcock w/Anthony Hopkins (6/10)
  • I did watch the Doctor Who Christmas special one or two days ago as well.

After some writing, I plan on watching X-Men: Days of Christmas Past and maybe Divergent.

Watched all of the 90s Flash live action series over about a week. It was just very "eh". The best episodes had Mark Hamil as The Trickster, he felt like a proto-Joker and was just great at being crazy. The show was just too much non Flash drama with barry. Plus, it took WAY too much inspiration from the Batman movies. Its far from the worst live action superhero show, and I don't regret watching it, but overall it rarely got better than watchable.

Arrested Development. Finally decided to check it out and see what all the fuss was about. It's OK, has some nicely hilarious moments, but I'm having trouble watching Jason Bateman without constantly being reminded of that pig-disgusting douchebag he played in that movie The Longest Week (that's last thing I've seen him in).

I liked him just fine in Horrible Bosses, Hancock, Juno etc., but it's like that god-awful fucking movie completely ruined him for me. It'll pass, I hope.
