There must be something weird about me, because I really like all of these episodes. Some of them — like Cogenitor, Past Tense, It's Only A Paper Moon, His Way or The Way to Eden — are actually among my favorite episodes of the whole franchise.

I do, however, consider The Omega Glory and Code of Honor to be really, really bad. So I can't be completely out of my mind, right? Right?! :shifty:

My opinions on the 24th century Treks worst episodes:

TNG- Encounter at Farpoint
TNG- Code of Honor
TNG- Hide and Q
TNG- Too Short a Season
TNG- Home Soil
TNG- The Child
DS9- Progress
DS9- Rules of Acquisition
DS9- Sanctuary
DS9- Meridian
DS9- Profit and Lace
DS9- Prodigal Daughter
VOY- Ex Post Facto
VOY- Emanations
VOY- Initiations
VOY- Prototype
VOY- Threshold
VOY- Innocence
VOY- Sacred Ground
VOY- Macrocosm
VOY- Darkling
VOY- Retrospect

I thought the thread was for serious answers.
It is and I did give a serious answer to the OP's question. Our planet revolves around the sun, not DS9... nor Niners opinions.

"There is more of heaven and earth than are dreamed of in your philosophy." -Shakespeare

You do realize that your opinion, if this is indeed your opinion, is so ridiculous that nobody in their right mind who knows anything about the subject can take you seriously? Being a "Niner" or not a "Niner" doesn't figure in it at all. I may think that VOY is the weakest Trek show, and that DS9 is the best, but I'd never write something as preposterous as that every DS9 episode - including If Wishes Were Horses, Meridian and Profit and Lace - is better than Meld or Living Witness and almost all of the other Trek. If you really don't understand that you're just making yourself look silly when you're claiming that every TOS episode including Mudd's Women, The Alternative Factor, Spock's Brain, Catspaw, The Way to Eden or The Cloud Minders is better than Duet, In the Pale Moonlight, Necessary Evil, The Visitor, Call to Arms, Sacrifice of Angels or Treachery, Faith and the Great River, well... I have no words.

But I doubt you really think so, I think you're just trying to 'make a statement' (read: to be a dick).
Opinions differ. There are better ways to disagree than tellling someone that they're trying to be a dick. Infraction for Flaming. Any relevant comments may be directed to PM.

Oh yeah, I forgot about "Meridian". I just try to block it out of my mind. Even as one of the most unabashed Jadzia fanboys here, I can't find anything to like about it. She comes across as such a moron in that episode.

TOS: The Way To Eden
DS9: His Way

I love "His Way" too. Top 10 favourite for me. Such a wonderful love story and a great introduction to Vic Fontaine, who has never been more endearing than he is in that episode. I haven't seen "The Way to Eden" yet.

TOS: The Alternative Factor, Spock's Brain, And the Children Shall Lead, The Way to Eden

TNG: Code of Honor, Shades of Gray, Sub Rosa

DS9: Meridian, The Muse, Let He Who Is Without Sin..., Proft and Lace

VOY: Threshold, The Fight

ENT: Extinction, These Are the Voyages...

It is ALL personal opinion. IDIC and such, I may hate what the other guy loves. That is what makes a thread like this FUN.

I think what makes an episode forgettable (or at least I try) is when a character is written totally unlike what is established. For instance a usually smart person gets an episode where they act dumb.:vulcan:

What?! I've heard some pretty crazy things before but I think this takes the cake...

Really? How much longer until you guys take up the mantle as The Thought Police? Honestly, if you read some of the posts that come from that camp it is apparent that their only real goal is to get under peoples skin not contribute to the discussion as a whole (which is all DevilEyes was pointing out.)

She didn't call him a "dick." She said his answer was made in the hopes of making him seem like one. There's a difference.

Speaking of which... there's a difference between the worst Star Trek episodes and episodes that just weren't that great. Some of these episodes that have been nominated, while certainly no where near my favorite and clear examples of badly done Star Trek, are hardly deserving of the title 'worst.'

I will say I appreciate the near consensus on TATV.

I thought Cogenitor was great, and Past Tense, It's Only a Paper Moon and His Way were good episodes. These are ust individual opinions, and I don't think that those episodes are widely hated or anything. The Darkness and the Light, Chrysalis and Nemesis were also very good episodes IMO, and I don't get the hate for Valiant, and I don't remember what was so wrong about Shadowplay, it was all right as far as I remember. The Outcast was not one of the best, but not one of the worst, either. Interface and Aquiel, as far as I can remember them, were average. I remember I liked Emanations, too.

They deserve the title of "worst" if you personally feel that they are the worst. I've seen episodes on people's worst lists that are absolute favorite episodes of mine.

As I've already said, comments may be made to me in PM or you can take it up with the board administration. This thread is not the place to argue about a warning.

Absolutely missed the point- but it isn't important enough to go into detail over unless you really want me to do so and somehow I doubt you do. Put simply- a burned pizza is certainly not the greatest meal but it can hardly be called the worst food ever.

you can take it up with the board administration.

I will.

You know, I didn't see it but TATV sounds like the germ of a good idea there where the story and the POV is from Archer's crew and ship and Troi and Riker are participants in the scenario helping the crew do something as different characters.
Then at the end they are finally revealed.

Why is it also that I liked Way to Eden, Spock's Brain, And the Children Shall Lead, and especially Savage curtain alot but can someone tell me why the insane Dr Sevrin's sound weapon didn't destroy like it was supposed to?

Only two episodes I didn't like were Wink of an Eye and The Alternative Factor. Somehow they could have been betterI think.

Although, I am not a huge fan of Enterprise, I can understand why so many hated TATV. When I watched it, I felt as though it dismissed all those fans who loved the show and had an emotional investment in those characters. "Haha, the joke's on you! They weren't real! It's all a hologram," seems to be the joke played upon those fans.

Wouldn't be the first point I've ever missed.

I'll just clarify that the episodes I listed are not "burned pizza". I hate them and I want them to not exist. ;)

I actually don't mind the bad episodes as much as the bland episodes. At least the bad eps are usually a bit of silly fun. The bland ones put me to sleep.

TOS - Spock's Brain - the best Trek parody ever filmed. Lousy ep though
TNG - Rascals - gag me
DS9 - Move Along Home - Alamarane my ass
VOY - Entire Series (Ha) - actually, Threshold - WTF?
ENT - TATV - I understand what they were trying to do, but they just could not pull it off, and gave a ham-fisted half assed result. Ironically, though, the final montage is one of my favorite moments in all of Trek.
