Watching Babylon 5 from the start.

This is a great show, without a doubt, I have watched Babylon 5: The Gathering (The pilot movie to the entire franchise), Babylon 5 season 1: Signs and Portents, Babylon 5 Season 2: The Coming of Shadows, Babylon 5 Season 3: Point of no Return and Babylon 5 Season 4: No Surrender, No Retreat, Awesome, pure awesome. The first half a dozen episodes or so, seem somewhat dry but that's ok, that often happens in a series and they...well, I don't want to risk spoilers. I plan on watching season five, the rest of the movies, lost tales and crusade, in a way I am sad I am almost through it, there's nothing like watching something for the first time...

Jeffery Sinclair, Susan Ivanova, Micheal Garibaldi and Kosh are probably among my favorite characters, and the preplanned story arcs into the series and trap doors for the characters is genius. While perhaps a greater budget might have meant better things, in the end (or long run, better termed), a little patience will pay off...big time. Budget wasn't always a problem anyway, the creator purposely planned the episodes to come out under budget (for a wide range of reasons I will not get into right now, first time viewers will see it as time goes on), while trying to provide quality stories. Back to the characters, they do take some getting used to, but to me, they were wonderful people, and Jeffery Sinclair is definitely one of my favorite starship/space station CO's ever.

Someone made a comment wanting to know an idea what would happened in the future should Sinclair have stuck around, I have some knowledge of the basic track, but I am afraid to post it here due to it actually being spoilers in the long run, and I cannot send PM's at the moment, so I am not certain where it could be posted. Unless of course you already know, then me knowing and not being able to post it somehow means nill.

In short though, to first time viewers, stick with it, it gets much, much better. A piece of advice, stick to the pilot movie and the seasons first, then work on the rest, it will all make much more sense. Try not to skip around if you can help it, there's things you need to catch.

Oh, as of the season four finale (I don't know what happens in season five and my opinions could change), Lennier and Vir are pretty cool characters to. Another piece of advice, don't research the series to much prior to watching episodes or after watching a certain episodes, you might stumble upon spoilers (I did, sadly).

Actually, with B5 there's nothing like watching it the SECOND time. You pick up on things foreshadowing what comes later surprisingly early on, that you almost certainly missed the first time round.

I just meant from the standpoint that you've never seen it, and do not know what's coming. I've guessed a few things correctly, actually from the hints on the show and friends (I dig the subtle stuff, and tend to write subtle things when I actually do). I will most likely pick up on things the second time around, without a doubt

You could always start a new thread and mark the title with "possible spoilers" so as to warn folks who haven't seen B5 all the way through. It would also allow folks to start a separate discussion on "what might've been."
