Warner bros announce superhero films through 2020

^^
Doubt we'll see a live action Tim before the other three though.
Well, we know Jason is dead. Tim would be next in line, if they decided to bring in the sidekicks of the DCU. Dick may yet still be out there though!

We're getting a JL Dark, Harley solo, and presumably a Suicide Squad 2, might as well give us a Titans movie while your at it, WB.

Just call it Titans. I mean, how many are actually teens?
In current continuity? The series that just ended were all teens. There are two Titans books right now. One features the originals as adults. The other features a line up of teens led by Damien.

If the DCEU does bring in a Robin I can see them skipping over Tim Drake and going straight to Damien Wayne since he's the current Robin in the comics.

I haven't read TT for many years, but I recall Nightwing was in college for what seemed like an age. Presumably he is now a fully accredited professor...

Regarding a movie, using "Teen" would be very limiting, and would probably get a lot of jokes about how old teenagers look in Hollywood movies. Just call it Titans, and have a mix of ages. Cyborg could be like a mentor to the younger members.

He went off to College in the early 70's, IIRC and stayed in until shortly after the New Teen Titans debuted in early 80's, He probably spent more time as a 10 year old in 40's and 50's.

Asa Butterfield was almost Spider-Man, but now he's expressed interest in a DC role.

Your name was mentioned many times online as the potential new webslinger. Are comic book films something that still interests you as an actor?

I always try to keep my options open – I think playing an iconic role like Peter Parker or any of the others, it’s always going to be difficult because you have a lot to live up to and to really own these characters who many people love and adore. To be given an opportunity to give your take on a character like that and something that you love is great. On the other side of the coin coming up with something totally original is just as fun because you get to start from scratch and create a new character which may well become iconic itself, you never know. I think Tom Holland did an incredible job, I think he nailed it.

Are you more a DC or Marvel fan?

DC honestly – just from the comics and the cartoon series. I like the grittiness of DC.

Would a role in the DC Extended Universe be something that may peak your interest? Looking at you, maybe playing Robin or Nightwing would fit?

Don’t jinx it! I’m maybe a bit too tall for Robin and about the same height as Ben Affleck but maybe someone who’s taller and sleek and a little sneaky!

They went younger with Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Maybe you could be the new Riddler, he’s tall and sleek!

Stop, you’re getting me excited!

Are you a fan of the new DC films, Batman v Superman, etc.?

I’m a big fan and I’m really excited to see Justice League!

Had to google who that was.
I could see him as Damian Wayne, but not really as Nightwing.

Asa Butterfield will be a perfect Billy Batson! Make it so!

But Butterfield is 19 years old (and 6 feet tall). Billy is a preteen kid -- that's kind of the whole point of the character, the wish-fulfillment fantasy of a child turning into a man. Granted, he was portrayed as a teenager and played by a 23-year-old in the '70s Filmation series that was my introduction to the character, but I think these days we'd expect something more authentic to the comics.

I think many people's experience of Asa Butterfield is with Hugo (not me, I've got a de-aged Michael Chicklis playing me later this year... ) and Enders Game where he was still rather a small teen, rather forgetting that the poor lad has grown up over those past 2-5 years

Hugo - has no idea what a Billy Batson is but presumes its some form a of Shazam like thing? Ah, yes, Google-fu tells me he's the the wish-fulfilling boy

Oh, I see. I get what you're saying…

How about Daniel Radcliffe then?

So in 2018 we get a sequel to Ant-Man, a film a lot of people didn't think would work but ended up being great, in the same year we're getting an Aquaman film. If you went back in time and told people in, say, the year 2000 that this was happening, they'd probably think you were crazy  What a great time to be a Superhero fan (even if I'm very unsure about the quality of the future DC films).

That reminds me, what happened to that Teen Titans series TNT was working on?

Aquaman director James Wan has talked a bit about Aquaman and Mera relationship in the movie.
He also said the movie will be like Raiders of the Lost Ark meets Romancing the Stone.
I like what I'm hearing, so it will be interesting to see how it actually turns out.
I was a little surprised to hear that Arthur and Mera apparently won't be a couple yet in JL and Aquaman. Once they announced that she was in the movies too, I had assumed they would already be together. It does sound like it has the potential to be a fun relationship.
I'm big fan of the Raider/Romancing kinds of movies, so I really hope the movie can live up to those comparisons.

I'm skeptical. Those movies rely on witty banter, and when Jason Momoa was on Stargate Atlantis, he could barely even enunciate consonants with any clarity, let alone deliver sparkling verbal repartee. I suppose he could've improved since then, but since I don't get HBO and have never seen Game of Thrones, I couldn't say.

He mostly spoke Dothraki.

That was what, 8 years ago? He's been in a lot of productions and improved since then. And it's not like he's foreign, he's Hawaiian.

What I'm sceptical about is those "Raiders of the Lost Ark/Romancing the Stone" comparisons. Because every time I hear those kinds of Raiders comparisons for a new movie I'm in for a huge disappointment.
