Warner bros announce superhero films through 2020

Speilberg is one of my favorite directors so I'm thrilled he's doing a DC movie, but I'm a little disappointed he's going with a group of characters I'm not familiar with. I would have loved to see what he could have done with a character like Superman, The Flash, or Green Lantern.

Is Ben Affleck getting replaced with Michael Keaton?!

 

Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if some people out there chose to interpret it that way.

 

I'd definitely watch an Old Batman movie starring Keaton (and directed by Tim Burton!)

CBR| RUMOR: Ben Affleck Still Wants to Play the DCEU's Batman

Gotta love that the source for this is a guy on Twitter who himself warns about it just being a rumor.

 

This whole thing about Affleck leaving or staying is getting out of hand.

 

Could be good.

 

Of course you know Affleck wanting to leave and/or WB wanting to replace him has been rumor all along. True or not, officially he's still attached to the role of Batman.

 

I know he was staying, but this rumor mill is getting nuts over if he'll stay or go.

You don't see anyone raising this much fuss over Chris Evans leaving after the next Avengers flick, people just accept he's put in his work and he's done.

 

Apparently people care more about Batman than about Captain America.

The simple fact is, Batman film news have proven themselves to make for very successful clickbait, so the online entertainment news sites jump on anything to do an article about it. Like the tweet of some writer living in L.A. reciting a rumor.

 

I usually don't mind when sites like CBR report on rumors from legit sites, but it is a bit ridiculous to report on what some random Twitter user said. At least they did make it clear this was a rumor.

 

Kinda, but come on, there should be different degrees even for rumors.

 

Next up: "But is he really staying on? Secret clues found in a snapchat exchange!"

Anyway, there were far more interesting rumours this week:

1. Wonder Woman 2 starts shooting at the end of this month.
2. Birds of Prey eyeing January 2019 for start of production
3. Peter Jackson considering joining the DCEU

 

Is there an unofficial new list of what is actually on the way?

The Flash, Birds of Prey and The Batman are most likely the next batch after that, though nothing has officially been confirmed as of yet.

 

And the Rock's Black Adam???? Seems like a mess that he was excluded from. Shazam (unless it is a teaser final scene, and the Black Adam movie shows his origin and a battle with Shazam)
