Holy shit, that's terrible. The guy looks like a kitten could kick his ass.
Wow, I'm sure taking a quote of mine from literally 6 months ago really adds to the conversation.
I actually looked if anyone else complained he was too scrawny back when he was announced to accompany this picture, but alas everybody else here was, y'know, reasonable...![]()
Of course it doesn't.Wow, I'm sure taking a quote of mine from literally 6 months ago really adds to the conversation.
He had enough of a hand in all the characterization problems.
It's poor taste to not think a movie is flawless?
It is important to take the 70's Superman in its historical context. I was less than ten years old when I saw that movie on television and I knew even then that it was not a "true to comics" interpretation of Superman.
In some ways, it was. Looking back on it now, it's weird to me how it combines an approach based in naturalism and verisimilitude (a word Richard Donner stressed frequently during the production, I gather) with a very fanciful plot full of absurd twists that would've been right at home in a Silver Age comic, and bumbling comedy villains like something out of the later seasons of the George Reeves TV show. And Superman III and Supergirl are far purer distillations of Silver Age DC storytelling style and its unapologetic goofiness, and actually work pretty well if you approach them with that mindset.
Yeah, it's not as bad as its reputation would have it, and Annette O'Toole is indeed a luminous presence as Lana. And since Christopher mentioned it, I'll add that Supergirl '84 has its charms too (and is rumored to finally be getting a long-delayed blu-ray release this summer).I must be in a minority in liking Superman III. I liked Lana a lot more than Lois, and I think a lot more could've been done with the Clark Kent/Superman Split thing.
so you're really not one to declare if someone is being reasonable or not.
To answer my own question, apparently not -- a Variety reporter is now tweeting that Hodson's BoP script will introduce Batgirl ahead of her solo movie.from a script by Christina Hodson (recently announced as scripting the Batgirl movie -- coincidence?).

^ I know you weren't being wholly serious, but I'm sure we can expect Harley's role to be very prominent -- Robbie's a producer on the thing, and her Harley was a breakout success from Suicide Squad.
Borys Kit via THR said:The iconic filmmaker is tackling his first DC Comics property, the World War II action-adventure hero Blackhawk.
Spielberg, along with his Amblin Entertainment, will produce Blackhawk for Warner Bros., and is developing it as a directing vehicle, the studio announced Tuesday. The move reteams him with the studio behind his latest tentpole, Ready Player One.
