I should hope so. It was a great finale-- the actor who plays Pete did an especially good job-- but losing Steve, Mrs Frederick, HG and the Warehouse is obviously too much. Artie retrieved MacPherson's stopwatch with the obvious intention of saving Steve, but I can foresee him having to make another choice now.
The characterizations were top notch.
I especially enjoyed Claudia's entire arc after Pete begged her not to go upstairs. That was just heartbreaking.
I'm also starting to wonder if "HG in WH12" is getting more and more traction as a series concept OR if any rumblings we've heard were instead in refference to this finale.
Either way, I bought the concept of WH12 more based on these flashbacks, than the one off episode they did (ala a backdoor pilot).

Agreed. The one issue I had with the end was why did HG put the force field around Pete, Myka, and Artie instead of just putting it around the bomb. She could have saved them, herself, and the entire Warehouse.
If the shield could've contained the blast. At least this way, the energy of the blast was given lots of room to expel it's energy.
If the bomb exploded in the shield, and the shield didn't hold, then everyone and everything would be gone as well.
It's just stuff, really, that got lost. (Ok. HG and the dog...but... yeah...)
I'm new to Warehouse 13, recently caught up, but that bomb blast still got to me.
I also wondered why they didn't put it around the bomb, or why it wasn't at least discussed. I suspect Artie's time-turner or whatever it is will allow them to go back, do that, and save the Warehouse and Mrs. Fredericks. (I am also relatively new to the show, so I haven't seen the stopwatch before.)
But Claudia looked like she wanted to use the metronome to help Steve. Would that work after he's been dead for a considerable time?

That was one of the best season finales I have seen this year. The twists. The turns. The deaths. The consequences. I'm wondering the pocket watch Artie has in his hand at the end of the season has the ability to reverse some of this. If yes, then I really want Mrs. F back.
I hope only SOME things are able to be turned back. I would hate (not really) if EVERYTHING went back to what it was.
Don't worry, it'll come out of left field next. This was the end of season 3. SyFy will cancel the show after season 5 because the costs will grow too high. The only question is if they will give the producers time to plan out an end properly.
I rewatched parts of the finale today, and I was wondering if QMX has become a prop designer for the show beyond just the Farnsworths (Regular & Claudia-ized) and maybe the Teslas?

Overall, loved it.
Glad that Jinxie did not betray them. Loved Pete’s love of HG, finally ... making her actions even more bittersweet. Loved the alarm at Leena’s place. DIdn’t mind Tyler split decision. And resetting the whole damn thing is fine with me.

The portal was designed so that HG and only HG would be able to open it? It took her remembering what her mentor (I won’t try to spell his name, but great character actor in everything) said, and I imagine he wasn’t telling everyone that info.
Is it necessarily bad for the artifacts to be destroyed? They seem such a risk, and many don’t seem to be able to be put to positive use.

Her life was tied to the warehouse, it kept her from aging. When it died her body aged by the proper amount.
H.G. had incite into the designer, having trained with him. So she was the best person to go to in the chance of rediscovering the lost secret of how to get in. The caretakers (um, what are they called again?) that used the room would obviously have been told the winning combination, but that would have been lost with them as they died off over the years
That finale is some of the best stuff W13 has ever done, but any sort of reset is going to cheapen things so much.
^^^True. But, being able to tell an actor that their character can stay dead is really useful in contract negotiations. End of season massacres and/or main leads in peril of imminent death seem to be primarily motivated by the financial, not artistic, considerations.
