Captain Kirk's attempt to come up with his own special move like Spock's neck pinch was certainly well-intentioned. However, the Iowan Tickle Attack just didn't go over well.

"Torres to Captain Janeway -- we're out of torpedoes, the phaser banks are offline, and we don't have enough power to channel an energy beam threw the deflector, and the enemy ships are approaching. Your orders?"

Janeway: "Point Mr. Tuvok's ass at the enemy vessels from an airlock!"

Janeway: "I found this thing on another planet. I have no idea what it is. I have no idea how it functions. I have no idea where to begin. I have a crew over over a hundred personnel, stranded in an unfamiliar part of the galaxy, pursued by hostile aliens, sudden Borg cubes, and sometimes crew members who want to kill other crew members, but by God I have time for this thing."
