The more I look at it, the more it feels like an evolution of the NX01 Enterprise bridge.
That corridor was always there.

Maybe you’d like it better if Disco went with the authentic plywood.
Maybe they'll get rid of the second door if/when they lift the bridge out of the B/C deck teardrop (or, I guess, the A/B deck teardrop, now), and they don't need corridor access since the bridge will stand alone. So one of the biggest changes I can see to the layout, is that they removed the station left of the science station, and put a door there.

The hallway behind communications and science means that they won't have to crawl around on the floor of the bridge like Uhura and Spock did in TOS....they can make repairs from the hallway side.
But the corridor was only accessible from the turbolift.
It didn't have a direct connection to the bridge like it does now
Since the show's aesthetic sucks, that picture is pleasing.i know i’m gonna get booed out of here, but i kinda wish they’d toned down the TOS-ization of the enterprise here. didn’t really fit the aesthetic the show has established so far.
Well whoop-de-doodle for you.
Take it from me, making factual 'Guesstaments' before the fact, almost always results in having to eat ones words around here.
(and it's not very nourishing to ones EGO)
While I have no doubt the Discovery Enterprise will probably never match exactly the TOS version, I do believe that They will bring her more inline with what has been seen before.
Otherwise there'd be no reason to specifically add to an episode script that she is going back to a Starbase for Repairs/Refit/Upgrade/Whatever.
You know, given how we've seen some TOS movie-era influences on the exterior of the ship, does anyone else feel a bit of that movie-era vibe in the bridge, too?
Of all of them, I’d say it’s closest to the TUC bridge.
Agreed. I expected as much based on the comments of concept illustrator Ryan Dening: "I would also like to add that I tend to keep very closely to the movies, as opposed to the 1960’s series, especially The Undiscovered Country, which is as advanced as they could get. The Enterprise really, before the movies, is a bunch of cardboard sets."yeah, lots of Undiscovered Country influences there.

TAS added a second turbolift (on the opposite side, forward) that hadn't been there in TOS:It's actually another turbolift.
The framing and lighting match the one on the right almost exactly.
But lighting that shines directly into one's eyes is, like, totally cannnnnon and stuff! In TOS, it often seemed that no matter how diffuse everything else in the room was, the eye-lighting always remained:When they refit the thing, they need to get rid of the eye level lighting. That would make work annoying. Or cover it with diffusers.
No wonder they upped the size from 289m to 340m.. They needed to fit that Yuuuge bridge!
like mentioned above, wish they kept the above station graphics, or atleast make them screens.. and the "Hallway" just seems out of place.. proably where the never before seen "ready room" was in Tos .. But in all, I like it, wish it wasn't "Christmas Vacation" level of lighting!![]()
Its much better, its nice when everything actually fits.Just to be anal about that - the original size of the TOS Enterprise was never, ever confirmed anywhere in canon. In fact - it doesn't make a lot sense, since it wouldn't fit two decks int ehsaucer (which the Enterprise clearly has).
An upscaled TOS Enterprise (~450m - 500m) also works way better as a bridge between the NX-01 and the Enterprise-C (with their "usual" numbers). Otherwise the 1701 would barely be any larger than the NX-01, but completely dwarfed by the Ent-C. Upscaling all the TOS era ships fits much, much better "inbetween" them. With the Excelsior being almost as long as the Ent-C, just not as wide. Instead of being dwarfed next to her, despite her bridge module, windows and all other size indicators being too small to house any human.

What I like about this Enterprise is that it feels like it's an update version. I gotta admit as much as I love the JJPrise, This one is definitely growing on me.
Isn't that what the Enterprise graphical area is?The one thing I wish they kept was the additional row of over-head monitors above the stations, with the funky pictures of space and graphics. They gave the bridge a nice height, whereas the new version looks pretty flat. Also the open corridor going around is weird.
