Keep in mind they've done this in Trek before. Unnecessary mystery was made surrounding Uhura's first name in the 2009 movie, from the Kobayashi Maru hacker of all people (if he can hack a secured simulation, finding a name from what is likely to be a public directory should be no problem for him).

Are you saying his full name, or his first name. I did a quick look at a site that shows the scripts, and just taking out his first name would be fairly easy, except for a couple examples, in at least the first few episodes. "Will" is said

Not mentioning the first name is easier. It is the avoiding the surname which would be nigh impossible. Also, it isn't really the number of occasions when it has been said which is relevant, it is that there are some situations where it just cannot reasonably be avoided without getting weird.
It's not the 4k, it's the 60fps (frames per second) that's throwing you off. Your eye is used to 24fps for fiction/movies. At 24fps you know you're watching a movie. At 60fps your mind is getting confused. It looks real, but it's not. For many people (including me) it's a huge turn off. It takes you out of the movie, kills any suspension of disbelief. So 24fps at will alway feel "more right" than 60fps

Don't forget that Xtmprsqzntwlfd needs to be said at exactly the right tone, pitch, and volume (including at extremely high frequencies that human voices probably can't recreate).
Why assume a Pike series: just because of the 1701 mod and bridge set? Why not more likely we will see the Enterprise during the rest of DSC series?
Traveling from year to another hasn't been a problem for Trek.
There was already rumours about it like about a year ago. Also Ethan Peck certainly seemed to know more than could say in a recent interview when he was asked about it.
Because Anson Mount already confirmed he's not coming back for more Discovery after Season 2 as of right now. Kind of hard to heavily feature the Enterprise without her captain.
This all depends on Discovery staying in the 23rd Century. It might, but it might not. We'll find out in nine days.

Well it'd be a bit expensive to build a whole bridge set just for a scene or two, so either we'll see more of the Enterprise in S3, or maybe she'll get her own spin-off. Or none of the above.
Well, technically Jar-Jar Binks also had comedic payoff. Neither I nor the woman I saw Star Trek 2009 with found the Uhura name stuff funny.
