I refuse to read that word properly. It will always be Hyper-Bowl to me.Hyperbole?

Yeah it would, actually. They own the damn thing. Why? By your logic it would still be Prime because CBS says so.

That ain't right, the top one has too may windows to be from The Cage.I've spotted three differences. One of these ships can not be Prime.

No one is saying they do.I'm sorry. CBS has no power over how I enjoy or interpret Star Trek.
No one said they do. But they do have the power to call something "Prime".I'm sorry. CBS has no power over how I enjoy or interpret Star Trek.
So do I; I just see it in a different part of itI just see Discovery as part of the Star Trek multiverse.
Which doesn't mean that it is, just that they call it that.No one said they do. Put they do have the power to call something "Prime".

That's exactly what it means.Which doesn't mean that it is, just that they call it that.
I've got 5.
Well, they're one's doing the work so there's the "enforcement" right there. They can call anything they like Prime. Doesn't mean it has any enforcement power beyond the people working on it.
Picard: No!!!Hmmm....

Can we call them quasi-cardassian totalitarians yet?Yeah it would, actually. They own the damn thing.
It's business. So I'd go with Ferengi. Can we call them quasi-cardassian totalitarians yet?
What are they enforcing exactly? Are they going to shoot someone who doesn't think it's Prime?!Well, they're one's doing the work so there's the "enforcement" right there.
Oohhh ugly... veeeerrry ugly...It's business. So I'd go with Ferengi.
Nah, they're just gonna produce the show they want to produce. That's all the enforcement needed and the only type that counts. What are they enforcing exactly? Are they going to shoot someone who doesn't think it's Prime?!
Anyway, I always believed in "see what I do, not listen to what I say" model of leadership. They may say it's Prime, but everything they actually do on the show screams "25% different from Prime"
In my opinion the only valid statement that CBS can make for any Trek product is wether it's canon or not. Canon being part of the world of Trek, non-canon being the opposite. Accepting DSC as prime because of authorial intent says so is a specific in-universe decision that would be akin to them saying, for example, Archer is Future Guy. There is no in-universe proof for it, so as far as I'm concerned I don't have to accept it.That's exactly what it means.
I know this is a joke, but [this is a great way to start a response, eh?] to be honest it feels rather out of place in a discussion regarding something so trivial like canonicity/timeline and really only further pollutes the discussion climate, that often tends to be already needlessly, eh, polluted, to stay with that metaphor. Can we call them quasi-cardassian totalitarians yet?
