USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

Some publishers care, someone had their Enterprise-E Render used on the cover of a TNG Novel, the artist contacted the publisher, they apologized and even compensated him for it.

They claim they thought it was an official render of the ship.

That's pretty high praise for the artist.

After 50 years of fans making their own versions and almost 20 years of folks posting them online...
I would imagine that there's going to be a lot of duplication's out there being used.
I dunno, that's a pretty close copy, right down to the angle of approach to the viewer and the details of the design.

I mean, obviously everyone is playing in CBS and Paramount and the publisher's sandbox, but they shouldn't be using the artist's work without at a minimum providing them with the proper credit.

If Harlan Ellison had been an artist of this type, this is exactly the kind of thing that would have driven him batshit....and rightly so.

Either get permission and work out compensation, or do your own fucking work.

They DSC Enterprise is on the login screen of Star Trek Adversaries, the actual model isn't in the game yet

Their models and textures are great quality, but some times they get details wrong, like the font here on the Shenzhou. But a majority of the models are very accurate.

Actually reminds me of one of the first renders we got of the Shenzhou from Eaglemoss, it had a similar font.

Yeah... umm, remember that they are using CBS Intellectual property in their works.
"Demanding" compensation now-a-days, after the AXANAR fiasco, might not be advisable.
CBS & Paramount aren't exactly in a 'sharing' mood lately.

I have to wonder; that render of the Discoprise. There's something that looks like a door on the aft end of the nacelle. Is that for Ben Finney to walk out of?

are we talking about the same thing?

That doesn't look like a door.

Looks like an inaccuracy on the part of the in game model, as the shape doesn't match the actual show used model, they're also missing what I think are RCS thrusters above and below it.

No, they look nothing the same despite being in the same location. And I was making a joke about it being a door. But that's fine. Be utterly obtuse. And for the record, I think Eaves is an unimaginative hack.

The DSC version of the Enterprise just helps go to show how mediocre most of the other ships in the series look in comparison. A handful of 2250s-era Federation starships notwithstanding the design aesthetic of this show could use some serious tweaking.

What game model? The image from today seems to be the same model from the show. Eaves' image is not the actual model. Whatever it is, it's obviously meant to be the same thing as on the original Enterprise.

It isn't the show model, it's missing some details that are on the show model.

(show model)

Like what appear to be thrusters above and below the vent, which are also present on the calendar
