I think the angle would be the same, front to back, just offset (probably) inward if it were on the nacelle. Hopefully we'll see the damn ship tomorrow.

There are 2 intercooler fins per nacelle on the TOS engines.
If you look at the defiant's in the DSC image there is on one the bottom of the nacelle.
Almost makes it look like the nacelle is turned sideways

I like the original but I can live with the changes. It will be interesting to see what the new texture would look like. However, I am guessing that the cutouts in the saucer will turn out to be giant windows which serve no practical purpose.

Yep saw it and if it plays out on screen like that cool. It still does not change the fact they never seemed confused about the look.
This needs retextured, but I like it, other than those pylons. Also, I think you are gonna see changes to the main hull. This is far closer to the body shapes we have seen however.

Looking at the Trekyards mockup, I remembered that the movie-era redesign (thanks to the other thread, I'm now self-concious about calling it "the refit") widened the saucer, and I'm wondering if the "cutouts" may in fact be the original saucer, and most of the silhouette is actually built-up around the old frame.
It's certainly in line with the pancaked aesthetic in ship designs we've seen so far.I like the original but I can live with the changes.
