Plus it's going at the wrong angle.
I think the angle would be the same, front to back, just offset (probably) inward if it were on the nacelle. Hopefully we'll see the damn ship tomorrow.
Plus it's going at the wrong angle.
unless there are fints on both sides of the nacelle, we wouldn't see it.
If you look at the defiant's in the DSC image there is on one the bottom of the nacelle. There are 2 intercooler fins per nacelle on the TOS engines.

Almost makes it look like the nacelle is turned sideways
Ahem.Because they lacked the ability and they would have altered the copies to fit a more powerful version.
Ahem.
Really am liking them both. And, not to revisit old wounds, but nothing about the TOS Connie strikes me as 60s.I like the original but I can live with the changes. It will be interesting to see what the new texture would look like. However, I am guessing that the cutouts in the saucer will turn out to be giant windows which serve no practical purpose.

AND CBS owns Star Trek, they know what's Prime and what isn't.
Anything else is opinion, not fact.
That doesn’t preclude them making shit up just to get more viewers.
Starfleet in our universe certainly modified ships that it has captured over the course of its history. Even if on the surface the alien vessel remains unchanged there are changes to the internal systems and control interfaces to allow humans and other Federation species to operate those ships.
Wouldn't that be a false advertising?
Yes, that’s exactly what it is. What’s your point?
If they say it's "Prime" it's Prime, until they or their successors say it isn't. It's their call to make. That doesn’t preclude them making shit up just to get more viewers.
Or it's just Star Trek. That works for me.The point it they wouldn't do that. Considering it's illegal.
Discovery is Prime Timeline until they say otherwise. No ifs ands or buts.

It's certainly in line with the pancaked aesthetic in ship designs we've seen so far.I like the original but I can live with the changes. From Star Trek: The Motion Picture:(thanks to the other thread, I'm now self-concious about calling it "the refit")
"Refit" is perfectly applicable.KIRK: Why aren't the Enterprise transporters operating, Mister Scott?
SCOTT: A wee problem, sir, really. Just temporary. Admiral, we have just spent eighteen months redesigning and refitting the Enterprise. How in the name of hell do they expect to have her ready in twelve hours?
