USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

Just the content and quality.

They have the equivalent of a high ranking redshirt, from a species evolved to be eaten, you acts like a dumbass for 15 straight episodes, to the point even his friends would consider eating him, and he survives.

That's...something?

The most fun episode saw Discovery explode countless times and Lorca killed in most imaginative ways possible. The most fun episode...

Considering he was murdering a pederast serial killing Terran mercenary...yes it was fun.

Humm.

But don't they still sell stuff for the original design? I'm sure they know what those contracts are.
This way, all those old contracts don't include the Disco-prise and have to be renegotiated to become available for use by current license holders.

Uh, where did him being a pederast come from? He was never shown to be a pedophile. If he groomed Burnham as his lover there's no reason to suspect it was when she was a child.

And who did he serial-kill anymore than anyone else in a star trek war? Think Archer still has the all-time kill count. Next you'll have him kidnapping the Lindbergh baby.

It seems that we have an early window / viewscreen combo here:

"Things veer off track when you start talking about the fridge's other features. For instance, you can tap twice on its 29-inch 1080p touchscreen to turn the screen "transparent" and see what's in your fridge, something that would normally require grabbing the handle of the fridge and applying an amount of force sufficient to open the door. That the fridge is powered by webOS also opens it up to Internet browsing and apps, just in case the experience of standing in front of your regular fridge with a phone or tablet isn't enough."

I thought that was the Empress' implication. Well I'm sure being a murderer is good enough anyway. Mudd isn't much better but he was technically doing the universe a favour.

How sad is it, that in a fucking STAR TREK show, we have to clarify if someone is a pedophile or not. And don't get me with that "it's not cannibalism if they're eating aliens" - this fucking show runs on disgusting shit. And all that fucking gore.

I really hate that.

That's not "mature" stuff, not even "adult". This is just disgusting shit to lure in teenage boys. But OhMyGod everybody freaks out ONE(!) nipple might have been visible...

What a shitshow in this regard...

I like Discovery, but the whole eating people angle was really off-putting. Like really off-putting and disgusting.

There was that. A problem that cropped up in both universes as the Klingons now apparently eat things that have been dead for weeks. When they've been shown to be extremely fickle about needing to eat live food for decades.

And the MU never had people eating people before.

That is the USA and Canada for you.
Violence (to a degree) and guns are fine, but show nudity and suddenly OMG think of the children!

Didn't bother me at all.
Now had it been the prime universe humans, then yeah.

And the MU never had people eating people before.
Well they never had a cattle species before.

The Kelpians are intelligent, but apparently are not the dominate species on their planet, which means what ever hunts them is either as smart or smarter then them, or is just really really mean and nasty.

Anyways, what does any of this have to do with the Enterprise? This discussion could easily go in the General Chat thread.
