Uniforms in the new series

This makes me think - although the movies seem to have moved away from it to some extent, I'd like to see some texture in the uniform for the series. It looks more organic and interesting than smooth fabric.

Those really look like power rangers/sentai suits, I think it's how tight the shirts are, they look like Go-Busters.

It could be, yes but that would be hardly worse than having medical wear regular science blue, with that they can be confused even in regular lighting.
But maybe they could just use white uniforms for medical although that could make them look like waiters.

Is there some kind of regulation that states that if you are on a certain part of the ship you MUST be in uniform? That the only time you can wear 'regular' clothes is in your quarters or when you are on leave?

One of the small things that bugged me during all the shows was people wearing their uniforms while they were hanging out at Quarks or at a party on the holodeck or ten forward.

I could see someone being on duty having permission to drop in on someone's birthday party for a few minutes and then returning to duty (or maybe they are required to allow people 'breaks' while on duty and of course they have to eat etc) remaining in Uniform but why is it worn ALL the time?

I don't think it's that unreasonable. If I go out for dinner after work, I generally go straight from work and I'm wearing the clothes I wore to work. Even when I go home I generally don't change all my clothes because why should I get more clothes dirty? And we did see plenty of civilian clothes on Star Trek. When someone went on shore leave, went to the holodeck, had a date, or another occasion where a change of clothes was appropriate.

When I get home I change completely. I don't mind washing clothes but I think that's beside the point. In the future I don't think laundry is much of an issue.

I suppose it depends if you want to take the extra time to change. 10 forward may be closer than your quarters, so why take a detour.

Oh not me. In the days when I had to wear a uniform, the first thing I did when I got home was pull the uniform shirt off and put on my "big boy" clothes. Now that I'm not in a uniform it is far more rare.

I like that idea, and having different colors, though I might want other colors for each department. The other thing I would add is some Class C uniforms for work, as well as an enlisted uniform.

LOVE IT!!! I truly LOVE it. Class A would be dress uniforms and Class B would be duty uniforms. Great job. Green has to be Command again, I loved TOS look; just imagine if the materials were the sparkly velour once used in the 60's? Awesome design. Nice, Nice!!!!

In the old black snd white episodes of Gunsmoke, what color was Marshal Dillon's vest? On screen it was a shade of grey. If Star Trek shirt broadcast as gold, it really doesn't matter what color it was on the set. Little more than Trek trivia.

Did you see the pic I posted earlier in this thread? The colour you claim to be green, is not green, measured as objectively as these things can be measured.

Well, it does look greenish to me, not bright green but closer to green than gold. That's not the case for all uniforms in the HD remaster (Sulu's still looks gold in the same shot) but it happens.

Eh, it's true the design looks similar but those look cheap, and not textured as in the other pic. They are also brighter, which makes a huge difference. What iteration is this from anyway? Is Power Rangers still even on?? I only recall the PR uniforms from probably 20 years ago, though I've never seen the show.
