Trip and T'Pol didn't share a bed for the next season and a half after they were 'intimate' with each other.

Yeah, once. Then the rest of the time it was will they?/won't they? angst that I didn't much care for either, among other things, but that's all the further I'll risk going into it.

As well as many of the above-given reasons, I loved this episode because it was one of the three or four where we actually got to see other Starfleet vessels besides the NX-01 :)

From the Trektoday review:
Whether one finds this a brilliant episode or an utterly derivative one will depend on one's level of emotional investment in the storyline and the characters.

I saw it this week for the first time and while it is a stand alone episode it was pretty good for me. A what-if scenario that departed from the usual.

I thought so, too. I think the thing that got me was the desperation of all the characters. Really nice work from Sussman. I think he was one of the writers who understood and usually put the characters first (before story).
