Trek characters who could have carried a series?

TOS: Mudd. That could have happened. I still think it could happen.

DSC: Mudd. (see TOS)

TOS's Mudd was a interesting, obviously amoral character with a mischievous side.

DIS's Mudd is just a dull psychopath.

ENT: Mayweather. ECS stuff.

Mayweather was one of those characters with a lot of potential, it's hard to shine when the writers absolutely refuse to give you anything to do.

The Boomers (my head canon) should be several hundred ships of different sorts and sizes, have a unique community of mutual support while still competing with each other,

Benny Russell ... I so would have watched series about 50s Sci-Fi writers in New York, whether or not the DS9 cast continued to play them or not.

I would have been down with a Sulu Excelsior show. He would have needed some strong supporting cast, though.

Also would have watched a Riker/Troi show set immediately after Nemesis.

Well, you get half a "like" for the Sulu suggestion.

I would have loved a "Captain Sulu" series, as we saw both in Star Trek VI and the Voyager episode "Flashback" that Takei could definitely project authority and inspire confidence.

And I'd definitely want Christian Slater in the cast.

These might be against the grain

Tos - McCoy. Honestly I loved his charisma as the curmudgeon type guy. Think "house" in space

TNG - Difficult to beat Picard hmmmm... honestly I'd say Worf he had a lot of interesting klingon issues, you could get a lot out of him torn between cultures and we know from ds9 Dorn has the chops

DS9 - HAS to be Garak, cloak and dagger style with the most charasmatic guy I've seen on trek.

Voyager - EMH, evolving sentience

ENT - Trip, he was relatable and could carry a show dealing with more down to earth issues with a little humour mixed in.

DISC - Georgiou and Lorca. Also the Admiral.

Captain Sulu aboard the Excelsior and his many battles with the Romulans and then the Klingons like Kor and Kang! In fact any update on TOS baddies could have been done on this show! But they decided to go with Enterpwyse and Henry Winkler as a Captain who didn't exist before and a ship unseen on the TMP history of the Starship!

That's the series we should have got after Voyager!!! Not some half arsed cobblers about a Captain who lived a century before Kirk and looked like he had a half ownership in Arnold's!!
We could have had many a sequel to TOS stories but unfortunately Harry Mudd wouldn't have been one of them since Roger C.Carmel had passed in 1986 I believe...
