Top Gear New Series

Good episode. Disappointed that they didn't have they preview bit, but apparently that's because they haven't filmed four of the big things for the season yet. I just want to see if the Camaro is on this season or not! :scream:

Why, so they can make fun of its outrageous looks, small interior, frightening dash, call it a heavy pig with poor road manners and lament the high European price and gasoline taxes?

I like the car myself, but even most American journalists haven't totally warmed up to the new Camaro so the boys across the pond are likely to rip it a new one.

Top Gear loved the Challenger, even if they did admit it to be a bit numb in the steering on the twisty Utah Mountain roads they drove it on for a part. I see no reason whey they shouldn't love the Camaro that has superior handling.

But above all I want it on the program with their kickass production values.

^ Ah, so you want to see Jezza hustle it sideways round a corner with the tyres screeching, eh?

CAR PR0N!!

:D

I want them to feature the 2010 Mustang (which you just know Richard will insist on driving) - partly because I think it's a great-looking car, and partly for the flood of live axle jokes that will inevitably come from Jeremy. (Even though he loved the Roush.)

Seeing as the Mustang hasn't done much more then a slight power up and cosmetic change, I don't really see them featuring it this season. When it gets the new 5.0 liter V8 they might though.

Meh, alright guest, alright challenge, alright reviews.

On the plus not, Americans can relax that their Corvette came up trumps against a Euro super car and the challenge car was pleasingly reminiscent of various science fiction vehicles. Thinking mostly of a cross between Forbidden Planet's tractor and the sub in Fantastic Voyage.

Brilliant episode, much better than last week's! Geoff looking like what would have happened if the Humvee had been invented by the production team on Dr Who- The Space Museum or something...

Clarkson: James, can you drive with the hazards on?
James: Yeah, but it might slow us down a bit.

There were lots of great lines in that test, I especially laughed out loud at:
"So let's move on, shall we, and do... ...the pendulum test. THis is to measure how a car will stand up to being sideswiped by a bus or a truck.
Frankly, it was hard to seehow we could possibly pass this."

Fantastic episode, bro and I where laughing so hard we couldn't breathe during the fastforwarded and backwards test footage :guffaw:

Not as good as the season premiere, but still some good moments. I still want to know how in the world the boys get away with blocking traffic like they did in Oxford. I'm sure there's some creative editing, but it seemed like they actually caused some major problems with Geoff dying while going in reverse.

After the R8 vs. ZR1 review, I think I FINALLY understand how the Cool Wall works. Yes, I've seen every episode of new Top Gear since season 2 and the rationale behind what cars go where has eluded me up until now.

The Cool Wall has few rules. These are the main ones I remember:

If a member of the TG team has it, auto-uncool
If a celebrity has it, particularly if it's a footballer, it's uncool.
If it's really fast, looks amazing and sounds incredible, it's probably cool.
If it's the DB9, it has its own fridge.
To be sub-zero, the car has to be practical, lovable and a good price (I think).

Nothing will ever beat the CW moment when Clarkson's back was broke so he couldn't bend low enough to prevent Hammond putting his favourites in the Cool section. Not even Hammond's crane last year!
